NIL can easily be solved by one person!

I am assuming this would have to be independent of the university, otherwise it seems like it would go to the "general revenue distribution fund"

Why? These fundraising events would be driven by Beth/Athletics–with proceeds benefitting Iowa's NIL account for Men's and Women's basketball.

Not a bad idea, for the women’s program.

Host a co-ed 3 on 3 at Wells in DM. Get Kate, Megan, Marshall, Coop, the Kittle duo, etc…

I can’t see her assisting the men’s program now that her step dad was just fired.
She loves Iowa and that includes Men's basketball. Fran made a fortune from Iowa and he should harbor no ill will. We gave him 15 years!

Caitlin Clark! All she has to do is host one major event a year at Carver Hawkeye arena (maybe a 3 on 3 tournament with former players). Ticket sales would support our NIL for mens and womens basketball. Caitlin could also sell autographed swag with proceeds also supporting NIL. We would have plenty of money to compete!
pretty good idea.
Strike while the iron is hot. I'm sure she'd prefer to start by building up the womens NIL though.

I think that would be a great idea and I believe Caitlin would be very willing. She was and is a great Hawkeye.

How much are the men getting? At this point figure most would go to women because they just fired her future father in law.

I thought about this after watching a Cooper Dejean interview when they asked him who would win in a 2-on-2 game if it was him and CC against any other WNBA player and with any other NFL player. What a cool concept and one that I think would get some television money.

How much are these tickets?

I don’t see the value or appeal of something so forced as this suggestion.

Going to get a bunch of little kids and that’s about it. You will not get any media willing to pony up to broadcast it.

Some b.s. scripted crap makes a preseason game look like the Super Bowl.
Did you not read how much ticket prices were for the Indiana Fever exhibition game??? Caitlin's Jersey retirement game?? Indiana Fever games???

Ashton Kutcher, Tom Arnold, and Zach Johnson. 3 big fans of Hawkeye sports.

I paid $60 each for mine. Even if you average $100/seat at Carver for this type of event that's gross revenue of only $1.5 M. Iowa MBB needs 3 times that amount for NIL, minimum. Annually.

She should do what she wants on her own accord. She's done a ton to help with recruiting and national stature of the program. The university shouldn't start 'asking things of her'
All of our past athletes, particularly those who are now high net worth individuals, should be solicited for major gifts, and to help the university in other ways (i.e., special events, public appearances, campaigns, NIL, etc.) I should know, I used to work for a University on its Advancement (fundraising) team. :)

Ticket sales, merchandise, autographed items, auction, etc...Can raise more than $1.5M. The $100 average is not correct. Many people paid much more than $60-100 for tickets to Caitlin's games and to Indiana Fever games.

How about all of the ex Iowa bball players - Luka and Murray’s to donate a few bucks to the NIL, same goes for the ex Hawks that are multi millionaires in the NFL. Where are they in all this?
Well, I hate to break it to you but Brad Heinrichs has repeatedly said that the number of former Iowa FB players that donate to the Swarm is a big fat zero unless they're doing it anonymously.

I was speculating if you could even get $100/ticket for this imaginary event and illustrating the amount of revenue that would raise from ticket sales. I have my doubts people will pay much more for that for a 3 on 3 event like that at Carver. Year after year after year.

If Iowa fans really want to make an impact on NIL funding we need a large pool of fans (~100,000 or so) who are consistent donors every year of at least $100, minimum. That's $10 M a year and that could help a lot for our high profile programs. Then the big money donors can focus on bringing in a freak athlete every now and then that will need a 7 figure amount waved under their nose to even consider coming to Iowa.

The problem is, Iowa fans aren't stepping up sufficiently or consistently enough to make a difference in the NIL marketplace. And if it continues that way going forward our programs will tumble towards the bottom of the conference overall. Irrelevancy. A sad truth unfortunately.

Yes. A real game with real teams getting ready for a real season.

Not some grab ass b.s. completely made up. Like Chuckie Cheese.
