ORLANDO, Fla. — An Orlando man was arrested Thursday after repeatedly threatening to bomb his flight, police said.

Danny A. Curry, 48, was scheduled to fly Spirit Airlines to Pensacola when he allegedly told a gate agent, “I bet you, everyone on that aircraft is going to deplane. There is a bomb on that aircraft.”

A police report did not say what led to him commenting, only that he was upset about carry-on fees.

Spirit Airlines makes customers pay to board their flights with bags larger than a small backpack and will ask customers to fit their bags into slots to check that no one is attempting to sneak more oversized items on board for free.

Spirit charges $99 for a carry-on bag at the gate of an Orlando to Pensacola flight, according to the airline’s website.

Officers said Curry’s wife tried to walk back her husband’s statement while a supervisor called 911, but Curry waved her off.

“Do you want me to say it again,” he reportedly told the agent.

The report said Curry appeared to regret his comment when officers arrived. Curry explained to officers that he was merely theorizing that a bomb might be on the plane.

All passengers on the flight were forced off their airplane while police cleared it, officers reported. Curry was charged with making a bomb threat.

Court records show he was released from jail on a $5,000 bond Friday. His next court date has not been set.

This is probably why your company makes you drive. Too scary to fly .. haha.

  1. $99 for a carry-on bags is absurd
  2. All you have to do is buy something from airport terminal store and put your items in it— you don’t get charged for terminal bags
