He was. And yeah, he hadn't (pretty common nowadays). But when healthy, he's about as good as it gets in MLB.

He was a late signing this spring, and therefore had practically no spring training. So as with most players that that occurs to, he was terrible out of the gate and got injured.

He came back in July and since then has 33 IP, EIGHT HITS allowed, with only 2 ER. My guess is the Giants' asking price was astronomical given he had gotten healthy and also returned to form (and then some).
