You got Hubert Davis now at UNC. Seems like a solid guy.I hope Villanova takes it down. Of the 3, he seems quite a bit less vile than the rest.
Sorry. I don't buy it. These guys win at any price. You got Hubert Davis now at UNC. Seems like a solid guy.
I am currently 2nd in another Iowa website's bracket. i need Kansas to beat Duke for the title. possible merchandise prize for the winner.Put a wager on it if you want a rooting favorite. If not, just watch and hope for good bball.
Yes, I remember those smart kids taking tests for the North Carolina BB players. Aw shucks Roy knew nothing about it...Duke and NC and a lot of the ACC get the smart kids who have discipline and have worked hard their whole lives. Why not want to go to an academic AND athletic top school? We don't have to worry about these things in Iowa as U.S. News and World Report (the academic-ranking Bible) has Iowa ranked second-to-last in the BIG, one spot above last-place Nebraska- in undergrad academics. (Look it up.) Our athletics are actually Way better than the school part of the school. As an Iowa grad, I have always tried to practice public humility. Privately I know we have the best, hard-working folks in the nation, even if we're not (as a group) that athletic or smart. But our women are all cute, and our children are mostly above-average.
Thanks for playing. The trolls who were in waiting like it though. I see a lot of them around now, with all the anti-Fran shit.
Although they had to wait a little longer because Iowa won the B1G TOURNAMENT TITLE HELLO.
Queuing the standard responses now:
- Lost the first round NCAA.
(So did Kentucky and Iowa wasn’t even predicted to make the tournament this year. Thanks for playing.)
- Defense.
(Duh. Look at the final stats and compare to previous years. You’ll see relative improvement. Thanks for playing.)
- Recruiting good players.
(Murray Twins. Thanks for playing)
- Long post with many paragraphs, with mostly revisionist history and lots of senseless rambling.
(TLDR. Thanks for playing).
I’m with you on this. Don’t talk about academics and North Carolina in the same sentence unless you want some serious vitriol from me. Made-up courses that they may or may not have had to attend ………right………😮Yes, I remember those smart kids taking tests for the North Carolina BB players. Aw shucks Roy knew nothing about it...
Jbo was invited to the 3 point contest
Put Duke on the money to buy list as well.Kansas = Best team money can buy
NC = Best team that never has to go to class
Duke = Best team to cheer against
Nova = Best team to cheer for
Nova: they seem like a good/clean program and they are the fundamentally sound. A little bit like if Iowa football was as good on offense as they are on defense.
Oddly enough, I just watched Ferentz, who I don't always agree with, expound on just this issue. He is afraid the way the NCAA regulations are being enforced and especially NIL, that we may return to the days of the Big Two and Little Twelve(?) in both major sports. I can definitely see his point when you hear about certain schools handing out cars like party favors and boosters lining up to hand out cash to recruits. Do you really think Iowa has a level playing field when this occurs? Iowa will get the players that the big boys just don't want and may not get them at all if they stock their benches and sidelines with players just to keep them from going to schools like Iowa.Boring just like football!!
Duke and NC get smart kids? Not necessarily in the athletic dept. NC had to cheat on the academic side of the basketball program.Duke and NC and a lot of the ACC get the smart kids who have discipline and have worked hard their whole lives. FIFYKansas-cheater * 2 (being generous)
Duke-cheater - very unlikeably period
UNC-cheater - not as bad two above
Nova-seems like a clean program
I will go with Nova.
Just root for someone to lose. That way no matter what happens....somebody loses........and you win!I hate them all
The sad part is, NIL was SUPPOSED to be something in which the schools have NO part. And it's already being grievously abused in year one.Oddly enough, I just watched Ferentz, who I don't always agree with, expound on just this issue. He is afraid the way the NCAA regulations are being enforced and especially NIL, that we may return to the days of the Big Two and Little Twelve(?) in both major sports. my thought as well, glad Arcidiacono graduated though - hated him as a player.....I hope Villanova takes it down. Of the 3, he seems quite a bit less vile than the rest.
I think Duke and Nova cheat less than all of them so I would normally root for them.I hate them all
Totally agreeKansas-cheater
Duke-cheater
UNC-cheater
Nova-seems like a clean program
I will go with Nova.
