While I don't think the dems prioritizing trans helped them, I think the fact that a big portion of Americans are dogshit people actually had more to do with repubs owning everything. republicans made an issue out of thin air. That tends to work really well on what trump refers to as the "poorly educated."

I know at least 2 who transitioned before they were 18. They both knew very early. Neither of their parents were liberal. You wouldn't know today that they were ever female. They're thriving now.
