Not mad, proud of the Hawks but growing tired

Just a lot of charmin soft play today.

They came back and fought. Just getting tired of seeing the same movie over and over come tournament time.

Curious. Does the “same movie” include the first round win, second round loss, like 2020-2021?

Translated: apathy
That's exactly it. I'm not really upset, I'm totally apathetic. I actually have something going on this Saturday day and night that I was trying to figure out how to squeeze the potential IA game in on Saturday.

In a pretty strong way, I'm happy I don't have to navigate that. I never would have felt that under Lute or Dr. Tom.

I'm with you. I was far more pissed off the last two years, because I had higher expectations for those teams, just to see them fall flat. This year? I had little hope of any kind of a run.

But yeah. I'm not really even mad right now. Just jaded.
Jaded is perfect.

Pretty much the result I expected since the NW/Wisconsin games. So not really mad at all. But disappointed for sure.

I think Fran has found a good formula to get us to the Dance on a regular basis, which I appreciate. But if we have ambitions of ever getting beyond the first weekend, we’ve got to improve on defense. The current formula just doesn’t produce tourney success.

Unless we hit the portal lottery, next year looks like a step back. I’m thinking NIT. But you never know. Fran’s teams have surprised before. Maybe the Moline boys will take the B1G by storm.

The seeding was a bad break. Playing a higher seeded team 100 miles from their campus is BS. Iowa played like they have all season (except Indiana) on opponents home courts.
It wasn't that bad of a draw for Iowa. Auburn was a bad shooting team. About the only chance Iowa has when it comes to winning a tournament game.

Ugh...not really. This game was ripe for the taking, any sort of first half and we win comfortably imo. Auburn isn't that good and will be throttled on Saturday.

Edit: now I'm really mad as Houston is wounded and extremely vulnerable, that game for Auburn is extremely winnable as the Houston G is probably a no go or severely limited.

Some of the lower seeded teams like Furman and Charleston looked pretty tough. Iowa faced an opponent that was beatable and I don't think the "home" court had as much effect as not being very good defensively or going 0-9 from 3pt line in 1st half.

Excuses are something teams/fanbases that are losers have to make use of. The obvious fix is to have better play.

This isn't every year but I was more excited to see how the women would do and anything the men did would have been a bonus.

Per usual, though, I bought into the hope they provided only to be let down. This team is just so stinking soft! I was so disheartened watching Auburn drive to the rim at will with little to no resistance with the man defending and zero help. The scout had to say let them shoot (yes, I know they shot better than expected) but our dudes were planted to the floor in no man's land.

I was mad to start the second half. I went back to jaded (great descriptive word on I feel). We had chances to get it tied or at least to a one possession game but I was not going to let myself have hope for a win. That's too many years off my life.

Jaded is perfect for this program.

Please, that seeding and game location was the least of our problems. Auburn is one of the least NCAA tournament talented teams I think I've seen in a long time; well except for IA that is.

Face it, we're very mediocre at best unless the Swarm enables us to buy players that even Fran can't mess up.

Meh. I’m apathetic. Last year was the last straw for me. To expect different from this program is naive. Their only shot is if they get hot and hit 75-80% and win a tight one, since they are not going to hold the other team to much on the defensive side of the court.

You know, last year was it for me too - at least under Fran.

How you can have a team with a top 4 NBA pick; top assist, 3 point shot leader (although his defense was suspect), natural, ice-in-his-veins-leader on a team that several national pundits had going as far as the Final 4 not even win 1 game in the Big Dance is beyond ridiculous.

Fran can't assemble a team and can't put together an offensive and defensive game plan that can win the in Big Dance. It couldn't be any clearer.
