That's the problem with putting too much emphasis on one week. Last year, Iowa looked like world beaters against Ohio State then followed that up by laying an egg against Wisconsin. The much maligned B1G Ten West looked great last bowl season, so people just need to chill and let the season play out .

There are a couple decent ISU fans, like Lone Clone and ISUBryce, who are actually interesting to read and converse with. But, yeah, a lot of the other ones seem to have the agenda of trying to make Cyclone fans look like feeble-minded mental midgets. I don't know what they get out of trolling here and posting garbage.
They are still collectively better than the Nebraska fans who come here and try to hijack threads, though. And it's not even close. Iowa State fans on here are way more tolerable than Nebraska fans. Just wait till next spring when a parade of Husker idiots invade the board to talk about how awesome their heroes looked in their spring game. There is no group of people more pathetic and self assured than the Nebraska fan base in the offseason.
I posted this in another thread but I don’t think our Cyclone friends saw it. Hawks fans, you can participate as well since the folks from Ames seem to be slow on the uptake. Can you name the last decade in which ISU football had a .500 or better record?
Your right, Iowa should win 11 or 12 games, and it is nice for a change that Iowa is not the laughing stock of college football for scheduling Iowa State as it has always been considered one of the weakest opponents on our schedule.

It still is, based upon espn’s take of the Hawks OOC schedule in ranking the Hawks # 24 in their power rankings: not very challenging, which means they still think isuck, well, sucks.
I like to bag on ISU as much as anyone but they will still end up right around 7-5/8-4. They will dismantle Akron this week, win 1/3 against TCU/Ok St/WV, and then possibly win 6 in a row, maybe a loss to Texas, to the end the year. Their schedule on the back end is utter crap.
At least we kept the B1G out of the CFP with our inconsistency. That has to mean something.

I remember when Lames about turned into riots and threw a parade when the Clowns made the Insight.com bowl. That place would burn down with 8 wins.
One of the win total will be a dominant defensive performance against ISU. May you reach bowl eligibility and make our win matter.
One thing that's hilarious about ISU fans ragging on the Big Ten West is that they played in the Big 12 North for YEARS and never won anything. There's the legendary "Reap It" thread from their one opportunity to win that division. Big 12 North must be tough though, because Nebraska joins the Big Ten and their only division title since was from the Legends/Leaders experiment. They won the Big 12 North almost every year. Now ISU is supposedly good and they play in a tough conference. Blah blah don't care. Beat us or shut up about us.
They hang out here because it is more important to them to see Iowa fail or at least rationalize why Iowa's success is an illusion than to deal with what is a perennial-bottom 20 football program. They hope to see Iowa fall to their level.
At least ISU fans can feel relief knowing that their days of playing in such an elite conference against elite competition are almost over.
