That never happens, get real. PSU has been as guilty as anyone in having guys skip the event in the past. Now that it’s essentially a home dual this year, they all want in? I think Carl is just using this as a means to further his monopoly and diminish the spotlight for everyone else.

Just curious. Did you want to puke back in 1992 when Iowa hosted the event and made a complete mockery and misuse of the event by having six Hawkeyes wrestle? They ask the top ranked guys to compete. If the top ranked guys decline, they move down the rankings until they get two guys that want to compete. It's not rocket science.

If all the best junior high/elementary kids in America are going to be watching then it is an important event for our “brand”. If not then not so much.

NCAAs trump everything, then we still have the Iowa-PSU dual as the 2nd biggest needle mover in the sport, after that we need to start being a factor in national events again—big tournaments, Olympic team trials, world team trials, etc.

If this event gets marketed and all the big fans of the sport watch then we are left out of an important party. Everything counts to some extent.

I agree the 1992 All Star meet doesn't matter now. It was a pretty cool meet though. Non team affiliated coaches in the corner, red and blue freestyle singlets and a ton of good matches, with guys getting after it and it was in Carver.
