Another election, another Republican humiliated and defeated. This trend looks very promising for November for Democrats, but they must stay aggressive on their campaigns and remind voters of the Republicans complete inability to govern and lead.
It seems like you guys are making more of this than it really is. It shouldn’t come as any surprise at all that Suozzi won. He represented the district for 6 years before stepping down to run for Governor. It’s a D+2 district and his opponent was a county legislator - a Black, Ethiopian-born Jew who ran as a Republican even though she is registered as a Democrat.
The only real surprise in this whole story is that Santos somehow won in the first place.

I believe the map was changed prior to the 2022 election and Lee Zeldin won the district by 10%.

I didn’t say anything at all about Biden. I said you guys are making a little more of this than what it really is. A three-time incumbent Democrat came back after taking a year off to run for Governor and reclaimed his seat in a D+2 district, beating a political upstart who was running as a Republican even though she isn’t actually a Republican.
You guys are treating this as some sort of seismic shift in the political landscape when in reality it was a very predictable, if not inevitable, outcome.
I am 100% convinced that House Republicans are going to get obliterated in November.
