Two former Iowa State men's basketball players have been arrested in recent days.
Dustin Hogue was charged with operating while intoxicated early Thursday morning while Kourtlin Jackson was arrested on charges of assault causing serious injury and public intoxication Friday morning.
Hogue's arrest was confirmed by the ISU police department while Jackson's is according to online records.
Ames police sergeant Mark Watson said the charge against Jackson was likely to be downgraded to assault causing bodily harm. Jackson was arrested around 1:40 a.m. Friday after police were called to Lincoln Way and Hayward Avenue, where they observed a fight in progress.
Hogue's senior season ended with ISU last month in the NCAA tournament while the walk-on Jackson made the decision to transfer out of the program following the season, an ISU spokesperson told the Ames Tribune last month month.
Jackson remained in the Story County Jail on Friday morning, according to online court records.
ISU police noticed a black Nissan parked at the North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station at 2:54 a.m. Thursday morning. When approached by officers, Hogue got out of the car and police noted the smell of alcohol and slurred speech by Hogue, according to Captain Aaron DeLashmutt.
Hogue submitted to a field sobriety test and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of OWI. When administered a breath test, Hogue registered a 0.118 percent, DeLashmutt said.
