O/T. Another 4-Star to MN Today

Eric Curry over AR and Iowa State.

2d Top 100 player in 2 days... per Bleacher Report.

The Arkansas board is having a fit. Seems they lost something like four Power Forward recruits all in the space of a couple days.

As to Minnesota, good for them. The Big Ten is no joke. As Illinois and Indiana and Ohio State and etc, etc, have seen. While stars matter there is much more that goes into it.

Minnesota starting to get a return on their investment. But, like DanL stated, in today's B10 you better have the advanced coaching skills to go along with the talent in order to compete for a title. Indiana the past couple of years is evidence of that. FWIW, I think Petino, Jr. is a decent coach but I would not put him in the top 6 coaches in the B10.

Also, Penn State has a great 2016 class lined up, Northwestern has a good 2016 class, Michigan State may have the top 2016 recruiting class and you guys might get Tyler Cook. Lots of talent coming into the Big Ten.

I'm interested to see what he can do with his guys. Tubbie's recruits were no slouches - so I don't think the quality of player at Minny is going up, just the type of player. Pitino had a LOT of close losses last year (must have been frustrating as hell to be a Gopher), so if he can make a few tweaks, his teams could be scary.

But I don't think he sticks around Minnesota that long, anyway.

Tubby's final recruiting class was Charles Buggs and Wally Ellenson.

What is fun about the Big Ten, to me, is top to bottom it is the best conference in the country. And should you have a team finish in the top half of the league, you've got a team that could get hot and hit the Sweet Sixteen without any big surprise.

Iowa, unless a miracle occurs, will not be the top recruiting school in the league. But the great news is, with solid recruiting like we've had. And I repeat, we've had, we can be competitive. That, to me, is just fine and dandy. The day our state puts together a bumper crop of players (Like we might just be seeing in the next few years) we could find ourselves winning this league.

We aren't hopelessly floundering anymore!
