It just seems like every year some team suddenly recruits at an elite level. I don't get it, what are the odds that out of 350 D1 teams some are, on paper, going to out recruit us? I mean what 350/1, that should be about 50/50 shouldn't it? I've done a little math:
√(4 − x) − √(6 + x) = √(14 + 2x)
[√(4 − x) − √(6 + x)]² = [√(14 + 2x)]²
(4 – x) – 2√(4 − x)√(6 +x) + (6 + x) = 14 + 2x
– 2√(4 − x)√(6 + x) = 14 + 2x – (4 – x) – (6 + x)
– 2√(4 − x)√(6 + x) = 14 + 2x – 4 + x – 6 – x
– 2√(4 − x)√(6 + x) = 4 + 2x
[– 2√(4 − x)√(6 + x)]/2 = [2(2 + x)]/2
– √[(4 − x)(6 + x)] = 2 + x
If this is right the last time we had an amazing recruiting year should have been around 1986. And before that, around 1953 or so. It appears there is about a 32 year lag between times when we have that rare, amazing, recruiting class. There's a bit of a Mayan calendar thing here, and a lot of Stonehenge. I had to reverse the variable several times and also consider Solar eclipses. All things considered, our next great class should be in 2019.
