if Oklahoma and ND lose, Buckeyes might get in to the playoff without playing in CCG. Makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it.

We should be pulling for it. Would lock up a minimum bid to rose for us IF we lose to MSU assuming they make it.

If both MSU and OSU get in we get the Rose so that's a positive.

Oklahoma might get in with a loss to freaking Texas who could not score on ISU!

Don't see them getting in over MSU/IA winner. We would be undefeated and MSU won head to head. Now if we are talking a 2nd team maybe. But conference championships are huge with the comittee. That's why ND needs help.

Would take more than that. Conference Championships are important.Big 12 can't get shut out in with a de facto championship game. Sparty-Iowa is another guaranteed spot. So it would take something from the top 2. Even if Clemson loses to a 1 loss North Carolina, that 1 loss Carolina gets in, so would take a 2 loss Carolina for ACC to get shut out. Even if Bama loses to Florida. If Florida wins their next 2 they are in, so it would take a Bama slip up. I think a 2 loss Bama could still get in if they win CCG. And also can't count out a 2 loss Stanford Pac 12 champ. Way too much would have to happen if OSU doesn't make CCG.

The committee will use any reasoning they want to get a team like OSU in if there is a reasonable opportunity to do so. This is a made for TV event that ESPN paid big bucks for. They want ratings and teams like OSU bring ratings.

We have only a single year of selections that everyone is basing the criteria for this year on. Last year playing the 'conference champ' card helped them drop TCU/Baylor (split champs) to slide in OSU. I think OSU gets in as a second team IF a few more dominos fall the right way. Oklahoma and/or Notre Dame losing is key.

I think Ohio State won't get in because none of these doomsday scenarios will come to pass..................................just sayin.

If certain things occur, the committee might have no choice but to put both a 13-0 Iowa AND a 12-1 Ohio State in the Final Four.

NC beats Clemson in ACC game. Okie State beats Okie tonight. Stanford beats ND. Auburn whips Alabama.

As we've known for a while, Iowa wins and they are in. If Ohio State gets in as well, so be it. Half the field from the Big Ten. It would make so many heads spin it would be beyond awesome.

With the current format, I think the committee will do whatever they can to keep multiple teams from any conference get in. North Carolina, if they beat Clemson, they could possibly be put in.

Assuming Clemson and Bama win out (likely) and Okla St and Stanford win tonight, the committee would be choosing between one-loss Okla St and one loss OSU for the 4th spot. Hard to believe they would leave out the defending champs after blowing out Mich, knowing they love to use the eye test.

It's VERY unlikely that ANY conference would get 2 teams in. There really are not any conferences with 2 teams that have a good enough SoS to do that. Period.

OSU won't get in. The committee puts a lot of value on conference championship. BUT, if you travel around the other boards, the Buckeyes are the team that other teams/fan bases fear and want nothing to do with in the playoffs. When playing up - or somewhat close - to their potential, they can absolutely unload on an opposing team. But, that's been their problem. With their nitwit co-offensive coordinators, they've played down to the competition too many times this year. They only have to look in the mirror for their failure to make the playoffs.

Again, in the end the committee can do what they please. That's why there is a human selection committee. If there was a hard and fast set of rules it would be computerized and there would be no need for a human committee. There's already been talk of 'eye tests' when rankings have been released. That means 'we like this team regardless of what the numbers say' so you can disregard your SOS if they want someone and it's reasonable to put them in. See TCU & OSU last year.

There is an outside shot that OSU gets in IF ND or OK lose. It's less about putting 2 B1G teams in and more about wanting OSU in. ESPN cannot get enough of Meyer v Sabin, Bama v OSU. I think the committee is going to have a hard time saying OSU's 1 loss on a last second FG to MSU is worse than OK's 1 loss to a horrible Texas team?

If, as we've been told, when voting the committee wipes the slate clean each week, then osu being the champion LAST YEAR should have no influence on deciding this years final four teams.

LOL as we've been told. Right!

I agree 100%. I'm a Buckeye fan, but I also know that OSU has not looked good too many times this season. Unless Sparty loses (which it doesn't look like that will happen), I don't see OSU making the playoffs. With that being said, I'd like to offer my congratulations to Iowa this year. The Hawkeyes have played great this year, and I hope you make it into the playoffs, because you absolutely deserve to. Good luck in the CCG, and in your post season.

I laughed after the game today the sideline reporter was interviewing Urban M and him..first thing she asked him was if he got enough carries today. :)
Yeah, that was great. I could tell he was uncomfortable after being put on the spot, but Oscar Meyer kept putting his head against Elliott's, which I couldn't help but notice repeatedly.
