O/U Thread: Trump will be out of office in August 2019

Trump has gotta go. R's have to see this. Independents definitely see this.

The Mueller investigation can't come out soon enough. There is too much smoke; I think the fire comes soon when the Mueller Report is released.

It's clear Trump committed 2 felonies when paying off those 2 women. I think the Mueller Report will have even more evidence where it becomes clear that the impeachment process must begin.

Aug 2019. He gone!
Fingers crossed!

All that matters is what FoxNews thinks. Until Hannity and Tucker turn Rs won’t jump ship. They’re the party of Hannity.

Maybe I should have bet the under.

Trump Presidency Won’t Survive 2019: Ex-GOP Congressman

Shane Croucher

A former Republican Congressman predicts that President Donald Trump will leave the White House “soon” in a “spectacular political crash-and-burn” set to take place during 2019.

John LeBoutillier, who was a GOP representative in Trump’s home city of New York back in the early 1980s, made his prediction in a column for The Hill.

Predictions: Trump goes, unexpected candidate emerges in 2019

“Donald J. Trump’s presidency will not survive 2019,” LeBoutillier wrote.

“The downward trajectory of every aspect of his tenure indicates we are headed for a spectacular political crash-and-burn — and fairly soon.

“His increasingly erratic and angry behavior, his self-imposed isolation, his inability and refusal to listen to smart advisers that he hired, all are leading him to a precipice.”

There are a number of threats to Trump’s turbulent presidency. The largest of all is the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, won by Trump.

Under the spotlight is the Trump campaign and suspicions it colluded with agents of the Russian state to undermine the election.

Several of Trump’s advisers and allies are either ensnared by or in the crosshairs of Mueller’s investigation, including Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chairman, and Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal attorney and fixer.

Manafort faces spending the rest of his life in jail after his conviction for fraud and admitting to acting as the unregistered agent of a foreign government, namely Ukraine’s corrupt Yanukovych regime.

Cohen was sentenced by a judge to three years in prison for fraud and campaign finance violations relating to hush payments made to two women accusing the president of extramarital affairs.

Though he has not yet been indicted, political consultant and Trump ally Roger Stone is facing scrutiny for his relationship with WikiLeaks editor Julian Assange, whose organization published emails stolen from the DNC by Russian hackers.

"The Mueller investigation will unveil evidence of Trump putting himself out to the highest bidder in return for campaign help and financing: Russians, Saudis, Emiratis, Qataris — there will be evidence that millions of foreign dollars illegally flowed into the Trump campaign coffers in 2016," LeBoutillier predicted.

"In other words, Trump basically said, 'I’m for sale.'"

The Trump presidency is also struggling to retain experienced heavyweights in its most senior positions.

Two of the most recent departures are White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, whose resignation letter was a rebuke of Trump’s policy.

Brookings, a Washington D.C. think tank, is tracking turnover in the Trump administration. As of December 14, 2018, Trump’s “A-Team” of most senior positions had a 65 percent turnover rate

Well, a number of us R's before the 2016 election stated he wouldn't survive a term in office, and we didn't vote for him. Nothing at this point is dissuading me from that stance. Put it to an over/under of August 2019, I'll bet the over. I think Romney and a few others are angling for a 2020 run, but right now I just don't see any R winning the election given what it will take to remove Trump, and the scorched-earth policy he and his followers will leave for any R nominee.

What do you think?

Over (after Aug)?

or

Under (before)?

or

Push (it happens in Aug 2019)

I am saying Aug 2019 because:

* The Mueller Report comes out soon and I think impeachment happens as a result & the Senate R's tell Trump there are 67 plus ready to vote him out.

* This gives the R's the time they need to pivot from Trump, rebrand, and get a candidate nominated for 2020.

* The R's don't need Trump any more. He is damaged goods. The R's have gotten from Trump what they wanted: tax cuts, 2 Supreme Court picks and several other judicial picks.
I may be just a weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee bit off.

I heard the Clinton impeachment took 17 months from the time the House impeached to the Senate completing its trial. That would take us to Sep, 2020.

Trump isn’t going anywhere until January 2021. I don’t see him getting reelected and I don’t see him getting forced out early.

The only exception might be if a criminal conviction was imminent and he wanted to step down in time for Pence to pardon him. But that wouldn’t happen until at least sometime late next year.

Over. No way Democrats remove him before the election. Unless polling shows that Republicans in the Senate will be voted out of office if they do nothing it won't get anywhere. There is no way in hell that polling will ever do that, especially since 39% of the country would actually prefer to live under a dictatorship it seems.

Not only will he not be removed, the pendulum will swing back the other way in 2020. Has the H of R passed one bill yet this session?

Well, they passed a resolution to release the Mueller Report in full 420-0. They've passed several laws, but nothing significant because the right wing has made cooperating with "the enemy" a liability.

He'll still be around since Chuck and Nancy are sackless and spineless.

August 19th Dems successfully remove Trump from office and celebrate.

August 20th Dems call Pence "worst threat to democracy ever...even worse than Trump!"

August 21- Pence Investigation begins.

Pretty sure there was no Senate trial for Clinton, so work that into your timeline

First of all, they haven't passed any laws because nothing becomes a law until it clears both houses and the POTUS. Could you provide a link of bills they have sent to the Senate?

LOL, just admit your previous comment was stupid. You asked if the House of Representatives had passed anything and I provided you a unanimous example. But nice job on moving the goalposts.

You provided no evidence of a bill originating in the House, passing through committed, being voted on the floor, and moving to the Senate. A resolution is not legislation. The Dems have the majority and consequently control of every committee. They have done NOTHING with that power except demand to see Mueller's report. They could do that AND actually work on issues like the people they serve expect them to. The House will be Republican again in 2021. Wanna make a wager?

Exactly 4 months later.

I like your assessment. But it looks like the Republicans won't be willing to give up their master baiter.

They need him to to keep whipping up the base so people are distracted while the Republican party takes orders from the wealthy and corporations.

What the GOP needs is someone to primary Trump who is as good or better at appealing to racists, religious nuts, gun nuts, and so on.

I suggest Steve King.

Or maybe Joni could campaign on castrating illegals and socialists.

So, since BioHawk can't produce evidence of legislation, I will provide it. The House is on pace to pass around 170 bills this year. In an average year, around 380 bills come the entire process of becoming a law. I will predict the pace will drop off further as they scramble to find new angles to investigate Trump. I predict the Republicans will gain 40-45 seats in the 2020 H of R elections.

I think Mueller is at this point, looking for an exit strategy. He has gone too long with no evidence of collusion, is off into the bushes at this point, and has been for months.

I would love for a few of those Russians he charged to show up for their trials, so we could see what he really has. From what I can see, they were doing roughly the same thing that our own media and many of our esteemed HROT members were doing around that same time. Perhaps this stuff is technically illegal, but no one ever really cared before (When the Chinese Red Army was participating in our elections e.g.).

Congrats, Titus. With the release of the report it's apparent you won this thread hands down.

As it turns out, Trump at the top of the ticket is still the recipe for Dem success in 2020.

Increase the majority in the House and flip 3 Senate seats. Likely Colorado/Arizona/Michigan or perhaps NCarolina.

The RNC will need to spend $$$ in Texas in 2020. Whoever thought that would happen? Kind of glad Trump survived the Mueller probe. Cause Indees likely would have given Pence a chance to prove himself.
