She never was on the table and it logistically has to be Harris as she's the only person who can simply take over Biden's campaign and use all the cash reserves that the campaign has stockpiled.

The cash reserves are one of the two bullets the D's have left to tip this race in their favor as Trump has already spent a lot of his on legal bills.

The other is getting Trump to debate Harris. I think he pretty much has to do it. He agreed to 2 debates with Biden and only had one so he would look weak if he didn't debate her at least once.

I don't know if she's an auto win but she seemed to have a good chance.

But a lot of that is because she was a relatively uncontroversial first lady that has a likeable personality. She did all of the conventional first lady stuff, didn't push any boundries. The only thing "controversial" about her was that she was black which means a lot of racists hated her. Which is how we got right wingers meming about how they were glad to finally have a dignified first lady in Melania.

Things change quick when she has to wade into the shit pool that is politics.
