I rewatched the NW game today in slow motion to see where our offense went wrong. Alaric Jackson was completely out of his league. He either whiffed or completely missed his assignment 70% of the time. For many plays a tight end was motioned over to help him block and even then it was not good. Wirfs missed some too, as one would expect, but Jackson was just plain awful.

It is hard to believe that even with the injuries we have, that is the best we can put on the field. I just don't understand that. And we were completely outcoached as well with half time adjustments.

Yes this young man had a real rough game.I'm not sure what's going to be done but it's been rough since his first snap a major issue.

It's pretty ironic that the weak link on a KF team is the OL but it seems to be the case.

The Guru, Guru Jr., and the position coach will be all over this and win another award from out of nowhere.

Excuses are bs at this point. Every team deals with injuries. The O-line has been bad all season with our without designated starters. It doesn't help that we run in the most obvious situations, which forces us to pass in the most obvious situations. We cater to the defense in all aspects of our offense, which is going to amplify any line issues. Throw the freaking ball 20 times in a row if you have to get teams out of the run blitzes. Give our 0 line a chance to catch teams not expecting runs and I guarantee their performance will improve.

Exactly. This was mentioned by the announcers in one of last night's games. Probably PSU/Michigan. Run on 1st down a majority of the time and not have much success you then probably throw on 2nd down. Incomplete or short pass and now 3rd down will be a pass. That's two out of three plays that are a sure bet for the defense to work with. Another Iowa trait is that they VERY RARELY go two consecutive plays without one of them being a running play. So even if the Hawks were to pass on 1st down, with or without success the next play will be a run. Yes there are exceptions, but a very high percentage of the time this is the Iowa offense. Not a BF thing this is every OC under KF.

Earlier this year, on BTN, the 'Expert Analyst' called James Daniels, perhaps the best player in the Big10 West. And the senior guard was being highly touted, as well.

??? These experts have no clue, zero.

Fans on HR seem to know more, every year.

And there were so may posters wantin Jackson and Wirfs on the field early. You saw what that did or is doing. Ike and Boone are sorely missed. The blame I think goes on Oline coach Polacek . NOBODY KNOWS WHO THE F TO BLOCK.

Mel Kiper's top prospects at each position for 2018 NFL draft
Sep 28, 2017

By Mel Kiper Jr. Football analyst

Time for a fresh update of my top prospects by position, the first since the preseason. A whole lot has changed ... dig in.

Important to note: This is a mix of seniors and underclassmen, but early on I separate the two so you see more senior players, as those are guys who are certain to be in the draft. By "underclassmen," I mean players who technically could return to school for another season. Those are true juniors and third-year sophomores. I've denoted the third-year sophomores with asterisks.

Centers

Seniors

1. Billy Price, Ohio State
2. Frank Ragnow, Arkansas
3. Scott Quessenberry, UCLA
4. Coleman Shelton, Washington
5. Bradley Bozeman, Alabama

Also considered: Jake Bennett, Colorado State; Austin Golson, Auburn; Brian Allen, Michigan State; Tejan Koroma, BYU

Underclassmen

1. James Daniels, Iowa
2. Will Clapp, LSU
3. Alec Eberle, Florida State
4. Brendan Moore, Maryland
5. Drew Kyser, Memphis
