Definitely some debate about Iowa's zone blocking scheme and subsequent recruitment of offensive linemen to execute it.

Most of the linemen turn out to be very good, and that shows in NFL terms.

However, as a group, it is much more debatable about how effective this is in the college game, running in particular.

Just wanted to share how our OL compares to a few others around the B10. I picked Wisconsin and Minnesota due to their reputation of having big linemen, but threw in Michigan and PSU as well to see how they compare.

The scatter plots below show Iowa (black rectangles) versus the other 4 teams (different colored circles) in terms of HEIGHT and WEIGHT.

Most OT's are at least 6'5" and 300 pounds, so I have highlighted that region of the charts. (Some of Iowa's future OT's are under 300 but will grow into this range, including all 3 of this year's starters).
