Freeman no way, Dix very unlikely,. Koch, Pryce, Traore, Tadjo if McCollum wants them. I don't think Dimbele fits because he didn't seem to understand defensive concepts and he't a below the riim guy. Harding is a mismatch on switches, and probably doesn't fit, though I suppose as a backup to Stirz it is possible. I think Harding has lot of confidence as sees himself as a starter.
I think we can come with the NIL to pay Stirtz and I would guess most of Drake's eligible roster will be at Iowa, and that will be part of
the selling point in signing Stirtz. They have unfinished business as a team.
I'd take Demble. Size, athleticism, and coming soon .... coaching.
They have to be good fits. Meaning they have to want to defend.
Harding is 100% gone, which was gonna be true if Fran came back too.
I think they have a decent shot at Dix but wouldn't bet a ton on it. I'd let Dembele walk but I'd take the others back, add Stirtz and a few other drake guys, and then hit the portal for a true big and some guard depth.
I trust Ben will get the guys he needs to win.

Posted some MVC studs that are in the portal which I think Ben might make a run at since he has a lot of familiarity with that conference. It’s all a guessing game at this point but I would love to have any of those dudes I posted about.

McCollum should look at JT Rock, the 7 footer from Sioux Falls who is leaving Iowa State. Has 3 years of eligibility left and was a highly regarded recruit.
Looks like Iowa offered him as well so he has familiarity with the hawks through that process and the in state rival. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing but one thing is clear for any transfer, there is plenty of opportunity to prove yourself!

You could make a case for Traore but even he is a relatively "unproven" player w/ 1 year averaging 15 min a game and only 5 points.
There's some good talent in the portal that blows away those stats. Why should we be hung up on current roster players that are average at best and played for a completely different coach/system?

Traore definitely showed something to be excited about. Again, the point being, you would think especially to someone who has found reason to be excited about players he's never seen play before.
Tadjo and especially Koch showed clear potential.

Someone Fran recruited and is familiar with Iowa. TJ Power from Virginia also entered the portal. Iowa recruiting him hard.

I do think finding a good big man is the most interesting acquisition in Portal for Iowa. Real test of McCollum.
