Official Cowherd thread: Iowa is a fraud, will lose to Nebraska (See Song he wrote, too)

I agree - it works to Iowa's advantage to be the "disrespected" underdog. Personally, I don't watch much ESPN or listen to talk radio but keep it coming boys its fuel for the fire.

"They have no 5-star athletes on their roster. None." OMG, at least most of the talking heads pretend not to have this bias, but I guess this clown is just coming out and saying in no uncertain terms "Iowa isn't any good because they aren't a blue blood and don't get the recruits that are considered the best when they're in H.S." Yeah, has a lot to do with this TEAM. Dumbass.

Eh this guy again? He has a intense attraction to his own thoughts, this same guy loves big names and big markets. Lakers, Trojans, Heat, Hurricanes, Yankees . He also said Auburn was going to win back to back titles a couple years ago. "Nick has issues with coaches like Malzahn." was a quote after the kick 6 game a couple years ago.

He has no knowledge or stats to back up his claims other than what his gophers bring him. People who don't do their own research lose some credibility to me. Iowa could win the Title and he'll call it a fluke....blah next.

Honestly, I don't necessarily disagree with him on everything. I don't think Iowa will win the national championship or even the Big 10 championship. They may lose to Nebraska.

Here's where I disagree with him. Outside of Clemson and Alabama, there isn't a team in the top 10 that doesn't have some flaws(aka frauds). To say we don't pass the eyeball test but then to overlook Ok St, Stanford until they lost to Oregon and Notre Dame is crazy. Who has Notre Dame beaten? They have no wins against current top 25 teams. Their best game is a close loss to #1 Clemson.

While we don't have any 5 star recruits, if you re-evaluated talent after the fact Beathard, Blythe, Walsh, Johnson, Jewell and King should have been. They will all be taken high in the draft(1-3 rounds).

I really don't care what the national pundits say. They are paid to have opinions and to generate ratings. Not everyone is going to believe in Iowa because they weren't supposed to be here in the first place. They don't have the recruits, they didn't win the games last year and they did escape some tough teams in the Big 10.

But you know what, for right now, they are here. In spite of what I thought, what many fans thought and certainly what the talking heads thoughts. All that really matters is what the players think and how far their hard work, heart, effort and fight will take them.

Lots of football left. If we lose, he will be sure to congratulate himself profusely. And it really doesn't matter should that happen.

Enjoy the wins. Enjoy the fact that this team has exceeded most everyone's expectations. Enjoy the possibility that this team has the opportunity to achieve what few dared to dream.

ENJOY.

Is he a clone fan? His butthurt is almost as deep as clone fans.http://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=210568

I actually listened to him sometimes, I didn't agree with many of his opinions, but it was at least different than just the safe sports guys like Mike and Mike who don't really offer up any opinions at all. He's a tool, you just can't take him serious.

He's really off the deep end here, the amount of time he spends on Iowa is insane. He's turning into the modern day Jim Rome. Not nearly to that point..but getting closer.

I did laugh the other day, he just got through with a rant about Iowa's schedule and went through it bagging on the teams..when he got to Iowa State he said that they were dogfood. Later his female counterpart said that a family member went to Iowa State and he loved listening to him badmouth Iowa and maybe he should go to the Iowa State campus since they now love him. He said, "Yeah...of course I did just call Iowa State dogfood."

I swear to God I'll pistol whip the next guy who says "eyeball test."
Hey Cowherd, what's that crappy thought process that makes you think one team is better than another despite the fact that you have no head to head proof and the two teams have drastically different playing styles?

LOL, this is getting funny. I love it, this team keeps getting that "slight edge" with motivation from crap like this. Anybody else notice he changes his reasoning every week because most of his "facts" are found to be fraud like the non conference scheduling..... at least in this he has his facts correct

Almost to a poster they proclaim loudly they would NEVER cheer for the Hawks.

Shoot, and here we were cheering for the Clones just last Saturday. Guess we're better than them in that regard too.
I hate ISU with a passion, but even I found myself cheering for them against Oky State.....there are times where I find myself cheering for them, not often but sometimes

a buddy of mine sent this to me last night..said he saw a nebraska fan post this. My response was something about them winning two in a row, and now their fans think they are world beaters. Newflash Nebraska, nobody is scared of you

What really matters is the parking lot test. What would happen if the two teams just got together and figured it out in a parking lot? That's the real deal.

I bet cowherd couldn't name 2 Iowa players. Up until the week he was fired cowherd was always talking up lane kiffin how he was going to make USC as dominant as the Pete Carroll years. Can't believe anyone hired him after ESPN got rid of him.

Iowa can play with anyone. The star argument for recruits is stupid. It's a baseline and an inexact science at that, for kids coming out of high school. Didn't mean a damn thing if a coach can't develop them. We have the best staff on the country when it comes to developing the talent they have. And that's not debatable.

Jesus... What a weirdo.

I don't "care" what he thinks, but I'm a little uncomfortable with him describing a bunch of college kids as frauds. They didn't ask to be there - they've simply won all their games. How insulting.

And super impressive that he "called" all those teams losing. How did he possibly figure our Baylor would get beat?

not standing up for him, he's acting like a dick.. but as far as your question..about Baylor getting beat..maybe he said they'd lose?

No way this Iowa team is a fraud, but: If we "play" defense against Nebby like we did against Minny, we could very easily lose.

What they do have is a talented QB with nads the size of church bells and an entire team that's behind him and not willing to lose. Give me one game at a time and I think this team gets the job done, make it through Indy and KF has shown that given time and preparation he can beat anyone on a given day.

Cowherd is irrelevant. More people watched Saltwater Fishing on NBC Sports than his Trump Interview replay on FS1 in prime time.

I think his point is that predicting Oklahoma to beat Baylor and their true freshman QB doesn't require a crystal ball. I know I thought OU would probably win.

its my understanding that he was not fired by espn, but that he was offered more money from fox during contract negotiations between himself, espn, and fox. yes espn did take him off of the air before his contract with them was up but after he had already sign a new deal with fox.
