*****Official Elite 8 Pregame Discussion. #2 IOWA (-5.5) vs #5 Louisville, 8 pm CT Sunday, ESPN. Hannah Stuelke is Healthy.*****

The Hawkeye starters have played nearly the entire game against both Georgia and Colorado.
Could be some fatigue against what looks like a fairly athletic opponent on only two day's rest.
The fatigue factor is a huge advantage for Iowa. Both Monica and Caitlyn had plenty left in the tank as both got rest against Colorado being in foul trouble. Plus they were already resting while Louisville was on the court. Bring in foul trouble could turn into a blessing, especially for Monica.

There was that stretch late in the 3rd or sometime in the 4th qtr where the 5 hawks on the court were looking very tired.

If you look at a replay of the 2nd half it is when the ladies could not get their legs moving, jumping, etc. Colo was getting tons of offensive rebounds and they were getting to all the loose balls.

Bluder did call a timeout instead of waiting for a deadball timeout which was great and now I think it was just under 5 minutes to go 4th qtr. After the timeout the hawks looked renewed, maybe Monica was back in, etc

That 5th foul on gunner Frida of Colo was big as it was like the buffs did not know who to at least run the offense through

I thought Clark looked pretty tired at the end of the last game.

Late 4th quarter she was walking down the court while others were running/jogging.

Sunday is going to come quickly for them.

Louisville, perhaps more than any other top team, has transformed the most from the non-conference to now.
Yup. That Ohio State game was November 30th. Pretty much irrelevant at this point in the season. Jeff Walz is also known for pulling some good defensive schemes from his sleeve against great players like he did to Baylor and Brittney Griner in the past.

Strongly disagree. The Georgia contest was played 3/19, last weekend - that game is a non-factor. Two days rest plenty, more than plenty, for highly conditioned college athletes. Other than some possible lingering mild stiffness during warm-ups, the 35 minutes action on Friday will be completely overwhelmed and obliterated by the surging high levels of adreneline on Sunday night

I would contend that Bluder's bigger task is to successfully harness the tremendous energy of a championship game so that the Hawks don't play too hyper and out of control resulting in excessive turnovers.

Maryland taking it to the Damer’s

Unfortunately, I think UConn not only wins today but ends up in the National title game.

Their path:

1) beat Ohio State today
2) beat Virginia Tech or Tennessee on Monday
3) beat Miami or LSU in the Final 4 (National Semi-finals)
