*****Official F1 2025 Season thread*****

Wild race in the rain with all the rookies. Lewis won’t be getting his eighth (ninth) with Ferrari. Rooting for McLaren is hard for me. Oscar and Lando are the best team of drivers but I can’t stand Zach Brown, he cries as much or more than Christian Horner.

In my opinion Max is still the best driver on the grid. What he was able to do with the dog shit car he had after Miami last season proves it.

Kimi could be the rookie to watch this season, finishing fifth after losing a position because of his team on his first grad prix.

I’m looking for Williams to make a good jump this season too. James Vowels has them heading in the right direction with a much improved driver line up this year with two former RBR drivers.

Last thing. I know why Yuki didn’t get the #2 RBR seat but Lawson shouldn’t be in that seat. P5 in the RB vs P18 in the RBR is nuts. Maybe I’ll be wrong by the end of the season but Lawson didn’t impress me last season either when he was in the RB.

100% agree with that all. I think Williams will be sneaky good with their lineup and somewhat formidable car.

Yuki deserved that seat for sure. Hope he leaves the RB family. Maybe Cadillac?

Lawson is a joke and seems like he’ll be a massive bust. Kind of entitled type vibe from him.

They actually overturned Kimis penalty. He finished 4th. Merc with a very quiet 3/4 👀.

Poor Lewis, Ferrari is going to just keep on Ferrari-ing.

While I want McLaren to win again I hope some teams step up to make the races tighter and more entertaining. They’re way ahead of everyone else (excluding Max, though even he looks mortal)

Good post! I agree with everything you said. McLaren has the best cars and probably best pair of drivers right now but Brown is a jackass. It was nice to see Williams show some speed this weekend. The beginning race sequence is different this year and that represents a new challenge to the teams.

Yuki is tied to the Honda engine so i doubt he goes to Caddy next season. Maybe Aston Martin pulls their head out and gets rid of nepo Stroll and puts Yuki in that seat for next season along with a shocker in Max. I don’t think Max is happy at RBR anymore and with Honda partnering up with AM I could see him make that move.

Lawson will be another victim of Max. I’m a Max fan but RBR needs to figure out how to set up the cars for two different drivers if they want to compete with McLaren for the constructors championship.

Mercedes will probably be the number two team as long as Kimi keeps it up. George is a good driver but imo not a great one. Too many brain farts and at times he panics when the pressure is on him.

Don’t feel sorry for Lewis, he’s getting paid handsomely but you’re right about Ferrari. I was hoping Fred would fix them last season but it’s the same thing.

McLaren is going to have some issues this season with their drivers. Lewis/Alonzo part 2?
Oscar just signed a new multi year contract with Lando doing the same last year. Could be interesting depending on how things shake out this season. Lando is sometimes hesitant on track while Oscar will absolutely send it. IMO Lando has the edge over him because like Russell, Oscar has a brain fart every now and then.

Great weekend for Max. He effectively won the race in qualifying. I am trying to decide if RB is actually improving and close to level with McLaren or if it was an anomaly due to the track. And RB still hasn't made any progress on getting their second car competitive. No chance at the constructor's championship until they do.

I don’t think there has been any improvement in the RB. Max just put in an insane lap in Q3. RB ran two different setups for their cars this weekend with Yuki having more downforce, which helped him not finish P20.

With the new engine regulations next year I could actually see Max moving to Aston Martin, the wildcard there is nepo baby Lance. Max loves the Honda engine and they have a deal with AM. Does Yuki get Fernando’s seat with that deal? If I’m AM I’m pushing hard for that to happen, especially since they poached Adrian Newy from RB.

Toto will also be pushing hard for Max to be in a MB next season. If that happens then who gets the short end of the stick, George or Kimmi? I’d go with Max and Kimmi. I can’t see Max sticking with RB unless there is a huge turnaround in car performance.

It's Max and him doing Max things. RB is still a trash can car if you aren't named Max. Lando is not good and wasting away that McLaren. Oscar is clearly the better driver but they won't switch them.

Also, cannot believe I stayed up to watch that precession live. Snoozefest.

I recorded it and watched it this morning. They move to the Middle East next week so back to more favorable watching window.
I agree about the lack of passing. I don't watch Monaco. That is a parade set in the land of overkill.

I could see Max going somewhere but not to Aston Martin. Stroll is going to make sure his kid has a seat for eternity. It doesn't seem that the Newey era is producing much improvement there: Alonso is struggling to break the top-10.

Agree about Lance but Newey just started this March. Although he is at least partially responsible for the tractor we know as the RB21.

I think you are harsh on RB. Max isn't miles behind the McLaren. He was reeling in the leader at the end of Australia. The top four teams are very competitive. It is the most competitive I have ever seen. RB needs to figure their second car out.

Wasn't able to watch. Was the pit lane exit drama with Max and Lando actually something or nothing?

Lando tried to make it something. It was 💯 on him for trying to pass on exit of the pits. Max was ahead of him and couldn't cross the line to the left without earning a penalty. The limey announcers even placed it all on Lando.

Might be a little harsh on RBR but going back to last season the second seat hasn’t scored many points for them with 3 different drivers. That’s when they finally figured out that they went the wrong way with car development after Miami. Checo went from finishing top 5 to not making it out of Q3, Lawson lasted 2 races and Yuki didn’t light it up at his home track. I’m hoping he can get it going and RBR, McLaren and MB can have an actual fight for the Constructors Championship.
