Hello 6-0 Hawkeye fans. How does that sound? How many are still thinking this is a dream and that it is not real? Banged up Iowa takes on an equally wounded Northwestern. There are several questions on both sides of the ball for Iowa. What is the status of Beathard's legs? Will we see Weigers in anything other than a late game role if the game is in hand? Can the defense keep the stingy rushing defense going? Iowa needs to get the rushing game going which will take pressure off Beathard and not have to have him get beaten up trying to pass or having to scramble. Iowa's defense is ready to stop the Northwestern running game and forcing them into a passing offense. Could the way the defense is playing have Iowa defer on the toss getting Northwestern into a 3-and-out giving the offense good starting field position? If Iowa starts with the ball, can they get a score on the opening drive? It could take a big play from the defense scoring a touchdown or Iowa's special teams can make the big play. This is going to be a tough game to call. As long as Iowa doesn't look forward to the open weekend and what happens after that. With that in mind, I am going to go with a hard fought game where Northwestern score 10-17 points and Iowa scoring 14-24 points making Iowa 7-0 on the season. GO HAWKEYES!!!
