***Official poll release thread Week 2***

Pat Fitzgerald is our friend. The road wins at Evanston and Madison keep getting bigger as Wisconsin and Northwestern climb up.

People that keep citing Iowa's "8 point squeaker" over Indiana, are the people who obviously never watched an Iowa game. That game was dominated in the 4th quarter, and a garbage touchdown at the end.

People sayin Baylor would smack Iowa by 20 obviously didn't see the SOS, and top 25 wins. Obviously don't know how you can put Baylor anywhere near Iowa after that....

Just making sure if the buckeyes lose a game they still make play off with a win over iowa in conference championship game... ok I'm kidding ,relax

I think it was huge that Wisconsin moved back into the top 25, Schedule/record against top 25 seems to be huge in the eyes of the committee. I also think they also realized that the road win at Indiana was actually a pretty solid win. I also believe that they actually may have taken a much closer look at Iowa this week instead of a cursory glance.

Finebaum gettin sat the eff down.... LOL FINEBAUM JUST SAID SAME TEAM THAT LOST TO TENNESSEE LAST YEAR WHAT AN ASS. The other guys tryin calm down before telling him to stfu.

Finebaum really is an uninformed asshat, I guess he is going to judge Iowa's program on the Tennessee game for the next decade, Well Mr. Finebaum, Alabama lost to frickin Ole Miss at home, You can't have it both ways.

Paul Finebaum and Kirk Herbstreit are idiots. The Big XII is garbage football. That conference is awful and plays ZERO defense. I'd love to see Iowa play Baylor or Oklahoma State and I'd LOVE to play Notre Dame. Not sure who the guy was sticking up for us but he's right. We absolutely could beat Stanford and in a one game format, we can play with any of those teams in the top 10. Finebaum..... this team lost to Tennessee last year. Last year? Who gives a f@#$ about last year? Dumbest reasoning to date.

He definitely jumped to "tool" status. Loved how he got shut up but then Herbie supported him.

Finebaum came off like an asshat there, that much we can all agree.

Paul, the firewall you're speaking of is the Big 12's non conference schedule (which isn't changing) and the back-loaded schedule. They did it to themselves.

Yeah, but Herbie did it respectfully, and only advocated for Oklahoma State, which I think you could make that argument. Herb's a respectful analyst.

The crazy thing is that everybody is going nuts over Oklahoma State beating the number 15 team at home. Iowa beat the number 18 team on the road. And thet also beat the #23 team in the road. So what's the argument for OSU to be higher?

Okie State had an impressive win, That is if we assume that TCU actually was a really good football team, They may not be, Ditto for Baylor, Cuz the reality is they have not played anyone yet that makes you feel that they have a truly good win.

TCU barely beat Minny and Minny is not a good football team. TCU will lose at least two more games this season, imo.

That's the primary case against preseason polls. Shouldn't have any until midyear like the CFP, if at all before year end. Because calling TCU a top 10 team has affected the way we interpret their results. Minny playing them close = Minny must be pretty good. No, they're bad, and almost beat a mediocre team at home. OkSU pounds them = OkSU must be top 10!!!!!!111!! No, they're a good team that did what good teams should do against mediocre teams at home.

And I just don't get why Finebaum is suddenly ESPN's darling. I read that Alabama book Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer and he was painted like Alabama's Marty Tirrell. Now suddenly he's on national TV every bloody day? What did he ever do to deserve our attention?

No, wait, yes I do get it. ESPN is in bed with the SEC, so they hire the biggest SEC loudmouth that attracts everyone's attention. Ratings, got it. Everybody tunes in because everybody hates him. Even the biggest Bammer fanboys hate him. You can read about it yourself in the book (or spare yourself the trouble and trust me-I did the painful dirty work for you).
