Officiating was horrendous

Who started this thread?

Any smart person would understand that I am not blaming the officials for the loss. Clearly you are not one of those individuals.

I will say it again; perhaps repetition will help you. Since we are all pointing out who sucked in yesterday's game (coaches, players, etc), we might as well include the zebras.

Eat shit dude and go start another 100 threads. There’s missed calls in every game. Clearly you’re the softest poster on here as well whenever anyone questions anything you say.

Feel free to add to the officiating screw ups.

Here’s a couple:

(1) On 4th down, the bogus personal foul on Shulte gave Missouri a 1st down and, eventually, 3 points.

We lost by 3 points, of course.

(2) This was not called. If it had, the Iowa drive continues.

The refs couldn't see the Missouri offside, but they were able to detect Iowa may have had five in the backfield on that late punt . . .

LOL

Actually, you clearly are the softest poster on here. Just look at your pathetic reply. I simply pointed out your stupidity and the fact that I had to repeat myself (since you appear rather slow) and then you got all butt hurt with the truth, replying with this nonsense.

Fran, I agree, PLENTY of blame to go around but this crew was in OVER their heads, missed crap and bad calls all game long on BOTH sides. Sure, you might not WANT to call that but hell, the helmet was clearly in the neutral zone, weak sauce roughing on the sideline, their RT was moving ahead of snap consistently (similar to KC Chief RT in NFL) and I'm sure we can cite many others.

This game was on Sully and KF of course but I had strong Outback Bowl level vibes throughout this game re: the zebras.

In your first post you state … Iowa lost by 3….. after citing a maybe missed off sides call.

I think Missouri fans could post plenty of clips where they got screwed also.

My apologies… I looked at the photo 😊

One thing they should not do for bowls is have all-star officiating crews. They need to have the best crews work the games. They work together all year and know what each person's responsibilities will be, good or bad.

Officiating was bad, whatever the Iowa Staff did at halftime was worse, Iowa Coaching and stupid mistakes made by Seniors who know better cost Iowa the Game , Soy infused pansies blame the Refs unless it is so eggrecious it cannot be ignored like the Jim Bain call . Iowa lost and deserved to lose .

I almost never blame a loss on officials. There’s always going to be missed calls and it usually evens itself out for the most part, happens on both sides. There’s over 100 plays in a football game. Go control your own destiny. Easy to play referee from your couch….if anyone thinks they can do better, sign up.

We went through this in 2006. That forced changes to the way that officiating crews are doled out for bowl games. However, this was only the Music City Bowl. If you want better refs in bowl games, you have to qualify for better bowl games.

RE: the offsides picture. I’d like to see where the ball was before the center moved it into the pre-snap position. Since it was just the helmet, they likely were lined up onsides before that happened.

1. Officiating was pretty weak
2. Never let the officials decide the game. Do it with your play.
In the Penn State game last night I believe Boise State was really manhandling warrant and Penn State wide receivers however I saw Penn State do similar. I just have no idea what is holding or passing interference anymore. Now what Penn State should not have done is have some stupid penalties. Number 77 on the line had a face mask followed by a motion penalty a few plays later. That killed a Penn State drive, if you recall he held which brought back a long run by Allen.

Number 33 in PSU got two stupid penalties which didn't help PSU.

It's the NFL that does all-star officiating crews for the postseason. My understanding for college is that those are the crews they've worked with all season.

Iowa has no BIG level QB. Iowa line is not good. That is why the loss.

You play according to what is happening on the field and adjust. Iowa is poor at adjusting.

Not much more of a story than that.

That was a terrific QB/WR combo Iowa faced.
