Oil Drilling Under Biden

JFC, your title should say ‘in spite of’, not ‘under’.

You’re acting like getting his ass kicked in court was really 4D chess to increase drilling?

WaPO:
A federal appellate judge struck down a lower court’s decision that had stopped the Biden administration from pausing the auction of oil and gas drilling rights in federal lands and water, a key campaign pledge in the president’s plan for tackling climate change.

Court upholds 2022 onshore oil and gas lease sales following Biden’s “unlawful” leasing ban

March 25, 2024
(WO) – Western Energy Alliance won a significant victory in court last Friday as the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia upheld the first onshore oil and gas lease sales of the Biden administration, held in June 2022.

And Here I was thinking Biden was smart enough to ditch the green dumb shit and go for Dino juice when we needed some cash flow........

Guy just lost in court to allow sanity to prevail.... huh....makes ya think huh.

Could you, perhaps, explain how the sale of a lease in 2022 increased oil production in 2023? TIA

One way of looking at this is that Biden provides stability across all industries which results in oil doing better, just as natural gas has done better, and renewables have done better under Biden.

Another way of looking at this is that oil production was going to go up no matter who was president especially with the New Mexico boom.

Either way, leasing permits have gone up under Biden, oil jobs have gone up under him, and there is quite a bit of stability.

Drill baby drill.

LOL...got it. You thought you had something but it was stupid so now you're trying to deflect. Can you answer the question or not?

The production from 2023 is due to leases and permits obtained years prior, not in 2022.
That answers your question, right?

Biden’s policies, from banning lease sales, to slow walking permits, and forbidding pipelines (thus forcing shut open wells because of flaring limits), have all been actions to limit production.

The increases in production we’ve seen are a rebound from the COVID related demand lows, built on a production environment that went through the Trump admin’s regulatory environment.

That’s why OPs mention of the rate of change in production is so disengenuous. But you caught that, right? You noticed he started with 2017, instead of factoring the years of lead time?

Now, can you answer my question:

Could you, perhaps, explain how a policy to ban the sale of new leases will increase production. TIA

He shut down Keystone which is Canadian oil and does nothing for our domestic production.

MAGAts are not required to use facts in their political diatribes. Facts seldom verify their positions. This “oil supply” argument used by MAGAts just doesnt stand up to reality. Trump brokered his “oil deal” with OPEC because he realized, the price of oil lies with how much oil OPEC produces more than what US production is.Its a world market.

The Federal Government is Also Approving Fewer New Pipelines
Since President Biden took office “his administration and its allies have taken over 200 actions deliberately designed to make it harder to produce energy here in America.” Many of these actions focused on reducing flaring from oil and gas operations, however, without sufficient pipeline infrastructure in place operators may have no option to capture the gas and to meet the Biden Administration’s goals. In many instances, production from federal lands simply cannot occur until more pipeline infrastructure is built. Despite this clear necessity, data published by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, shows that the average number of natural gas pipeline approvals per year has also significantly dropped during the Biden Administration by more than 50% compared to past administrations.

LOL...how far in the future is this "limit" going to take effect? And, FTR, sane people heartily approve of limiting future fossil fuel production as we transition to cleaner energy. So there's that.

I’m answered your question.

Now answer mine and then I’ll address your next question.

He hasn't banned anything but ANWR

This guy is not a liberal but he is an energy expert. If you’re on Tik Tok, check out some of his other videos. He brings the receipts.

Mr Global is the man. I've learned a lot watching his videos. MAGAts would benefit to listen to him but that's too scary it would ruin their world view

Ok, imagine you couldn’t read the posts about where the courts thwarted him, and just imagine only ANWR has been affected.

Hasn’t production increased?

Hasn’t production increased?
Yes.
Permitting and other approvals and installations mean 5-6 year lead times in operating new leases.

Thus my question why anyone thinks Biden should take credit for increases born from approvals underway before he took office, particularly when his stated and actual energy policies have been to thwart production.

There is nothing about a policy to ban drilling that increases production, @tarheelbybirth is never going to acknowledge that by answering my question.

So production has increased while Biden has “banned the sale” of new leases?

He's full of shit - up to his eyeballs. The oil industry has over 9,000 permits available to them right now. Nine...Thousand.

Biden has approved more leases in his term than Trump did in the same amount of time. The Inflation Reduction Act, as a compromise to get it passed, including provisions to auction off leases for seventy-three MILLION acres in the Gulf of Mexico. @seminole97 is so desperate to score points for Trump that he has to lie...just like Trump.

And, FTR, this is one of my biggest issues with the current admin.

Quote what you consider to be a lie, you coward.

The efforts by Biden to ban leasing are documented fact.

You won’t answer how banning the sale of leases increases production because you know that it doesn’t increase production, but you’re too much of a coward to acknowledge it.

So production has increased while Biden has “banned the sale” of new leases?

Yes, because as I explained that production was already several years in process. 5-6 year lead time mean the production increases you’re seeing now we’re put in motion under the last administration.
Biden is kneecapping future production with his policies. Meanwhile idiots are trying to assign him credit while refusing to acknowledge the consequence of his policies.

nelly02 has a believe system, he searches the web to find confirmation of his nonsensical belief system, then crows about how smart his newly found confirmation pal is. Would nelly02 actually try to find opposing viewpoints and facts to see if his and his confirmation pal's viewpoint is actually accurate, of course not.

Gee I'm such a ****ing moron for believing a man who is an expert in the field and brings facts and data from reputable sources to his arguments. I should believe the morons on the other side who never have sources and when they do they are easily debunked. Yeah that makes sense.

Get a ****ing clue dipshit 🙄
