couldnt figure out which coach lost 2 team points for arguing, then I noticed you missed 149!

Just a guess. Iowa wins regular decisions at 125, 133, 149 and Heavyweight.
Okie St gets regular decisions at 157, 165, 174, 184 and 197 with MD at 141.

Okie State 19
Iowa 12

Fixed. That's what I would predict for each individual match, but so many matches could go either way. Could be a blowout either way or could be a nail biter.

That is why we love wrestling, because all the predictions in the world mean nothing-just the two of them. Of course, we still make predictions, and the homer in us always comes out. As long as we all just cheer for our team, (whoever they might be) we can all have a lot of fun!

Will Stoll be ready by then? Hope so. If not, they have no chance at winning this dual. For sake of the fans, let's do it based on the best going for each team.

125:Gilman dec. Piccininni Iowa 3-0 Being in Stillwater he keeps it to a dec. losing 8-2ish.
133:Clark dec. Brock Iowa 6-0 Brock is the real deal. I will go with Clark in March, but winning this dual isn't a sure thing.
141:Heil dec. Carton Iowa 6-3 Could easily be a major, but Iowa is so good at doing what it takes in duals.
149:Sorenson dec. Collica Iowa 9-3 Collica is much better in March. Won't threaten in dual and probably still won't in March.
157:Smith dec. Kemerer Iowa 9-6 Should be the match of the night. Great style matchup, but statistically the most improvement is made between your freshman and sophomore years. Smith will be too much for Kemerer.
165:Rogers dec. Marinelli tied 9-9 I like Marinelli a ton, but Rogers is crazy hard to wrestle. Seeing him now would work wonders for March. Give it to Rogers now, but Marinelli makes the proper adjustments when it counts.
174:Crutchmer dec. Meyer 12-9 OkState If healthy, I just don't see Crutchmer losing. He knows how to win ugly.
184:Brooks dec. Boyd Tied 12-12 Boyd went on a tear at the end of the season, but I truly believe Brooks is the 2nd best at the weight(behind Dean) and will prove it this year.
197:Weigel dec. Wilcke/Holloway 15-12 Avoiding bonus here should be huge
285:Stoll dec. Schafer 15-15

Has the makings of an incredible dual. I hope everyone I listed above wrestles!

Good rundown. I would only point out both guys @ 157 are 2nd year guys. That said, Joseph Smith's learning curve might not be "typical" since he's probably been around a college room much more than the vast majority of collegiate wrestlers. One could even see it being more flat because of it. In the end, I have no idea, your prediction may be spot on.

Understood. Years in school is considerably different from years wrestling attached. Having to make weight for duals and wrestle tournaments attached(especially experiencing the NCAA Tournament) is huge. Having that experience is a major component in that 2nd year progression. That first year experiencing the NCAA Tournament is nearly immeasurable. Although, High Schooler's are getting more exposure than ever before, and as a result, Freshmen are finding more success, nothing can truly prepare you for those 3 days.

Fair points especially regarding the NCAA tourney.

Hear is a picture of Az when he was younger with his cousin. They have the same mother, but daddies were brothers. Az is the good looking one with the smaller ear and lower by 2 inches on the right side. A family trait that his kids have.

Jeezus i hope thats one of them optical delusionso_O

Just done surfing the OSU forum and it sounds like Smith may be out of the lineup for quite some time. In a dual... that's a 6-8 point swing into Iowa's favor, if true.

Mitch, I don't know where you got that information from. Here is some news, Joe will for sure be back no later then or after the Scuffle. He has been limited in amount of time in the room. John will take his time about bringing him back because there is no threat about losing a dual until Iowa but since Clark's out he doesn't even have to bring him back then! To bad because I would love to see Brock take it to him in Stillwater!

Togs - Unfortunately you will be one of about ten Poke fans there to see the dual. I've been to Stillwater twice and both times I was embarrassed at the poor showing. There's nothing else to do in Okie, yet somehow you're able to generate little enthusiasm for the two most decorated programs in NCAA wrestling history.

It's because Iowa style of wrestling is boring. Push, shove, low scoring. I looked up on the internet the word "boring", I wasn't surprise I saw this

Go back and reread some of the threads on your forum there sunshine.

There are several references in multiple posts of "if and when" regarding Smith returning to the mat.

been to iowa city more than twice & other iowa places...i would rather live in oklahoma than iowa.

it will be a long trip back to iowa after the dual...

Can't wait to see this one...wish we didn't have to wait till January, and hate that we're back to back to back against OSU, PSU and tOSU, but it will give us a fair idea as to what we might expect in March...

Gilman MD 4-0
Clark Dec 7-0
Heil Dec 7-3
Sorensen Dec 13-3
Smith Dec 13-6
Rogers MD 13-10
Crutchmer Dec 13-13
Boyd Dec 13-16
Wilcke in a major upset 16-16 (really like this kid)
Iowa dec Okie 19-16 (healthy SS = 22-16)
not sure how Sorenson gets a 6 point dec

like the loyalty but ever heard of a guy named Nickal? Maybe Gillman can squeak out a bono and get this one done 2yrs in a row.

Nickal is legit, but as we saw at cliff keen with Martin, 184 is a meat grinder. Brooks was soooo close to breaking through last year that I expect him to beast mode this year.

125:Gilman mdec. Piccininni; 4-0 after watching the pitt match not sure if pic can handle the pressure and i'm sure Gilman will finish his shots

133:Brock dec who ever Iowa puts out there: 4-3 i think he can go with anybody in the country. his bottom position still is a problem.

141:Heil dec. Carton 4-6

149:Sorenson dec. Collica 7-6 Iowa 9-3 Sorenson is to strong and sound

157:Smith dec. Kemerer 7-9

165:Rogers dec. Marinelli 7-12 i can see this as a toss up because chandler doesn't have the fire like he had at 74.

174:Crutchmer dec. Meyer 7-15

184:Brooks dec. Boyd 10-15 i don't think Boyd matches up well with his strength and positioning.

197:Weigel dec. Wilcke/Holloway 10-18

285: stoll dec shaffer. 13-18

LOL I'll pass on both. Its easy enough to catch a flight in for duals. At least we get to shoot some pheasants while visiting Iowa.

More like a 1-2 point swing. Kemerer is going to beat Joe Smith. If he's wrestling, Marinelli will also beat Chandler Rogers.

Brock will tech or pin Laux. I know I'm in the minority, but I truly believe Kemerer beats Smith, and Marinelli would beat Rogers. We'll see. I've been wrong plenty of times.

I'm just giving you a hard time. If you stay off your back vs Rogers you have a great chance to win bc he gives up a ton points. Smith-well see how healthy he is.

I like your optimism or perhaps I'm missing the sarcasm.

Rogers scares me. He could win by fall, imo.

I feel
Gilman MD Piccinnini Iowa 4-0
Clark MD Brock Iowa 8-0
Heil MD Carton Iowa 8-4
Sorensen Dec Collica Iowa 11-4
Smith MD Kemerer Iowa 11-8 (Kem is the real deal but Smith is realer)
Rogers MD Gunther 11-12 Okie State
Meyer dec Crutchmer Iowa 14-12
Brooks MD Boyd Iowa 18-12
Weigel dec Wilcke Iowa 18-15
Stoll dec Schafer Iowa 21-15
Bonus match, Togs sister pins Chief 21-21
Criteria win for Okie State for having the heaviest heavyweight. Thanks to Togs sister.
It was great growing up having a older and real big sister who could beat the sh#t out of everybody. Stoll won't be ready by dual and Tom will protect his rankings in January. I change my prediction OSU wins 7 matches and OSU fans will be yelling "STALLING" the whole dual except in Gillman/Sorensen/Brooks match! A lot of Iowa wrestlers with there head on the mat looking at Tom "what do I do look".

mike I plan on coming out do you think there will be any tickets available.

I have 4 in Section 213, row 8, seats 1-4. I will give you a deal to beat Togs price, and you get to sit just right of centerline. Ask any ref, they can hear me just fine from there. A cool $1000 for all 4 would be fine.

Probably not. But, if you butter up to Togs, he has 2 VIP seats for $650.00 each. The VIP package includes a free trailer hitch, an order of beef jerky and a Diet Dr. Pibb. Definitely worth it in my humble opinion!
You forgot the autograph picture of me too, that trumps Cowboy! I'll throw in my sister for another $1000. Bring as many friends as you want, no extra charge (Cowboy special of the day)) or for $500 my new little lady
