Tough opponent? Absolutely.
2018 juggernaut? Absolutely not. There may be a little bit of "Michigan" in them.

The Cowboys are 7-1 against the bottom three teams of the Big 12.
Granted, they are 8-2 against other teams (including sweeping OU by impressive margins) but they did go 1-2 against Texas on the road. They swept TCU as well but two of the games were close.

A very good opponent but one which gives the UI baseball team an excellent chance to score some serious points with the selection committee.

Oklahoma State moved up to #17 in the country. Hopefully tons of tickets are sold for this weekend's series.

Very little Michigan in Okie State. They are the real deal. They have played 0 games against teams 200+ in the RPI, Michigan has played 15 games against teams over 200 in the RPI. The worst team in the Big 12 (K-State) is 135 in the RPI, that is about 100 spots above the worst team in the Big 10.

Cowboys are 14-8-1 against Top 100 RPI teams. Michigan is 4-9 against Top 100 teams. Michigan has talent, but was ripe to be beaten as they hadn't played many good teams. Most similar profile to Okie State would be Indiana, who Iowa split with.

I'd encourage anybody who can to make it out for this series. Iowa will need the fan support, plus we're in for a real treat to get a team like Oklahoma State in Iowa City. This is a program that is two seasons removed from making the CWS. They have made the CWS 20 times in program history. They do have a peculiar series loss to Eastern Michigan early in the year, but overall solid.

They are the real deal, this will be quite the challenge for Iowa. Especially since Iowa now has some arm injuries.

To get to the level Heller wants though, embrace the challenge and who knows what will happen.
