On Nov 16: "Those gray uniforms were awesome"

I'm glad I went back through and read the comments. I guess I don't like them.:)

They are OK. Not terrible, however, they look like the Hawks knockoffs you buy for your 5 year old relative for Christmas who does not know any better.

Last time I checked grey is not a color of the University of Iowa.

and Birky, the guy who does not care if they wear boobie tassels, No, I do not believe you. You care alright.......lol

The #Hawkeyes are 3-0 and eclipsed 90 points every time in gray uniforms this season.

I am not a huge fan of these and would like to have gold instead. However, my opinion does not matter. If the guys like them and they are winning in them- who cares.

anyone watching the Iowa baseball game today vs IU in the B1G Baseball Tournament?

why can't men's basketball have cool uniforms like those?

I can tolerate them but gray is blah, it is in my opinion the worst uniform color out there. If they modified it into more of a metallic or satin silver it would be an improvement. Why would you go with a flat blah gray when you have actual colors you can go with

Baseball is a bit easier for multiple reasons.
1. You can have different colored pants from tops. Like our Gold tops with white pants.
2. You have the buttons down the middle of the jersey giving you an opportunity to add piping to give some pizazz.
3. You have sleeves where you can put logos on.
4. Gray is an expected road color in baseball, no matter your school colors.

But some of the concepts wouldn't transfer over to basketball well. Look at the photo of our black baseball uniforms. Now imagine if we had an equivalent basketball uniform with plain black shorts, a plain black tank top, with gold block lettered Iowa on the front and gold numbers. That would look like a practice outfit, not a game outfit. Baseball gets to accessorize with a belt and hat plus the tigerhawk logo on the sleeve. Also, players get to choose to do full length pants or knickers for an extra flair of style.

On the gray baseball outfits, the gold piping looks great. And the gold piped black block lettering looks really good too. But it wouldn't look as good on a white, gold, black uniform which is what basketball uses, except for the 3 or so games they broke out the special gray ones.

Nope. All Black, with Yellow trim and IOWA in yellow would look sharp. Primary color ... better than gray in basketball.

Because it'd be weird to play basketball in sleeved shirts, pants, and hats?
all i am saying is the Iowa baseball team has white, gray, gold and black uniforms, and they all look great.

Iowa men's basketball?

* the "O" is filled in with white on the black uniforms

* they have not been updated in several years.

* the arrows down the side of the shorts look like someone was trying too hard when trying to come up with a design
