One big step towards dictatorship

The Citizenship Clause broadly defines citizenship, superseding the Supreme Court's decision in Dred Scott v. Sandford (1857), which had held that Americans descended from African slaves could not be U.S. citizens.

But The Supreme Court had an opinion in 1857 why isn't that the law today????
The 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments are why. You should read that Constitution you claim to have. Good day to you sir.

Thanks for making my point. One party is mostly trying to save the nation. The other is on the brink of destroying it. The world leader who HATES US, has orchestrated this entire thing and our idiot populace gave it to him. Both sides. Eff that noise.
My point still stands that both sides are terrible right now but, yes, Trump is doing some seriously outlandish things that violate the sprit of this nation. I'm not arguing who is worse, that is team orange.

We, as a people, deserve better than what we have in the Dem party. Why do we want to settle for just being "not terrible?" Why can't we find some middle ground?

The democrats are better than anyone gives them credit for. They actually try to accomplish things. The problem is they just aren’t as good at politics as Republicans. If they were Trump would already be in prison.

Look I dump on the Democrats constantly for their wimpiness and pathological aversion to conflict but they're currently the only realistic vehicle for the overthrow of Trumpism that's out there. I'm just amazed that there isn't a national Democrat somewhere who hasn't seen what an incredible opportunity is available right now to just take over the party by aggressively and loudly opposing Trump and the MAGA's. That person would immediately have the inside track for the nomination in 28.

Howard Dean was able to make himself the front runner for the 04 nomination for 6 months before flaming out by seeing and taking that opportunity 20 years ago, I'm just amazed that no one else apparently sees what I and a lot of other people see. Maybe JB Pritzker?

Pritzker is an interesting thought. He certainly has guts. He still seems like Fred Flintstone to me. Maybe he'd be a good alternative. Illinois for all its Dem problems with corruption is going to be a big test. Pritzker doesn't seem like the typical corrupt Illinois Dem.
