Depends on how much you lose through alienation. At some point it's too much and you lose men.

They have forever. But they're improving. The focus on race -- as led by the dems politically much more so than the repubs -- nationally will, ironically, probably end up helping the right politically more than the left.
No one gives a crap about small stuff like that.
Dems get anywhere near 65% of the female vote(easily achieved) and they won't even need 50% of males.
Losing an extra 5% of 14% is something like 1% overall. By targeting women they only have to pick up 2-3% of 50%< which gives a 1-1.5% bump.
