Definitely not my favorite 80s song, but it gets solid points for the positive vibe.
Most of my time in the 80s was spent in diapers, but the music hung around my life well into the 2000s. My favorites, along with @alaskanseminole's Take on Me, are these three*:
*Assuming we are talking the quintessential 80s pop music. There was a ton of great rock music made in that decade that is an entirely different category.

That's a good one. I'll be in the minority on this but I think I like this one of theirs better.
Let’s actually hear something from the decade with some balls. 80s heavy metal should have just packed it up after this. It was all going to be downhill from this. Definitely the best in its genre:
