I liked this comment on the Iowa/NU game and thought I would share.

one reason I like Iowa...
Canzeri just scored 2 TDs. running in from long distance. he ran hard the whole way- didn't break stride, didn't look behind, didn't hold the ball out while crossing the goal line, didn't have a 'look at me' attitude, didn't do some stupid dance, didn't disrespect the other team's defenders with a move just legal enough to not get flagged.. He just did what he was supposed to do in workmanship fashion- kept his head down and then did it again. THAT is class..
That is a reflection of his coach. What's not to like?

Robert

Go Hawks! 12-0

If you hand/toss the ball to a ref after you score a touchdown, there is no chance that you drop it before crossing the goalline in celebration. And I think everyone who has scored a touchdown this year knows that the score was a result of good team play, not just their own individual talent.

This is the way it should be. Finish the play, hand the ball to the ref, then go celebrate with your team. Let your play show up the other team not your extra activities.

Excellent post. Awesome that we have hawk fans like you who notice stuff like that. HAWKS

I think this is what exemplifies not just this year's team, but will be the ultimate legacy of KF's time at the helm of this program. Damnit, there were times we all wanted his head, extreme ups and extreme downs. BUT, he did business his way...He runs/ran the program with class, turned players with virtually no other shots into NFL players and when the writing on the wall was real, he proved he bled black and gold and here we are. How many other coaches in a similar position just would've coasted through into retirement and scoffed? I was wrong, most of us were wrong.

Our neighbors to the west can take a lesson from this...Patience, reality and loyalty. In this era of college football, VERY few programs are positioned to have truly sustained relevance, certainly not the dynasties witnessed before TV exposure saturation. As someone who lives in Omaha, by far the largest metro in Iowa or Nebraska and a melting pot of scarlet and gold, I see the difference every single day. I'm enjoying this ride, they don't come often...NU can also enjoy this type of season again one day, but not until their reality and place in this era has been accepted.
