That is the first time I can remember our end of game press being effective and forcing needed turnovers in a LONG time.

I feel like we're able to stop people from scoring when we have good defensive intensity, but we can't always force possessions to end quickly via steals and other turnovers. Last night we forced back to back turnovers in crunch time with our press in what had previously felt like impossible situations. If that is attributable to the young guys on the team, this is going to be a fun ride for the foreseeable future.

Our 3/4 court press seems to have really improved this year, as we've been getting the occasional 10 second call, plenty of deflections and plenty of secondary turnovers from forcing poor decisions. It's a HUGE tool to have for when you face better teams or teams with suspect guard play and something I think we've tended to lack in the past.

While it does seem to a lot of open buckets on occasion, something that doesn't show up on the stat sheet is exactly what the press is designed to do - limiting the amount of time the other team has in the half court offense.
