In all seriousness, I’m not sure why “political news” should be more relevant than some other kind of news, let alone how it is defined. And either way, both parties are plenty good at using the means of communication to reach the people they actually want to reach. There is no magic technology

There is a large overlap between “politics” and “government.” If you’re not sure why people who are better versed in issues relating to our government are apt to make better choices regarding who should serve in our government, that would seem to be simply a lack of effort on your part.

I would certainly prefer NFL officials to be well-versed in football rules.
