My respective guesses are:Does Spencer wrestle before Midlands? Could he wrestle there unattached?
I believe he’s referring to the tweet by Chad Leistikow who was reporting per Coach Brands, Kemmerer is scheduled to wrestle at 174 vs Oregon St. I don’t know where he got that info or if it’s accurate, but that’s what WitnessGreatness was referring to.I don't know what Askren was saying, but if he was saying Kem is hurt the article doesn't refute that, it confirms it.

Big Brands fan but this statement makes no sense lol. First “we put our best team out there every time so we can create depth” and “whose to say that wasn’t our best team out there”. The first is just a contradiction and the second is just obvious lol. Well you don’t have two of your top of your top three guys wrestling so that can’t possibly be your best team. Lol
My takeaway was that they are going to go with the best guy available. That means benching a starter because they are seeing the backup as a better option at that time, whether that is due to performance or injury. Getting guys experience on the main stage for either reason is going to help with depth.Big Brands fan but this statement makes no sense lol. The theory was that the only reason Nelson would wrestle down at 174 instead of 184 is that Kemerer was dealing with a long-term injury that could cause him to miss the postseason. That still doesn’t explain what “conspiracy” Askren was supposedly touting.
I don't see why he would wrestle unattached at Midlands. And yes I believe we see him beforehand, such as at Iowa State and the Rokfin Duals.Does Spencer wrestle before Midlands? Could he wrestle there unattached?

Yeah, considering Nelson is one of our top 184 guys and the weight isn't decided, it was definitely interesting to see him down at 174 instead of someone else.Ah. Okay, that actually makes sense.
Not really a conspiracy, but it makes sense.
I get that, but I guess I just don't see him wanting to stick around for another year of college. It would also make the decision to not get surgery even worse tbh.Unattached to preserve the opportunity to RS if he just isn’t going to recover fully enough to earn a fourth NC.

Unattached to preserve the opportunity to RS if he just isn’t going to recover fully enough to earn a fourth NC.
As odd as it sounds, he could compete and be eligible for a medical redshirt so there's no need to participate unattached. That said, there hasn't so much been a whisper that he's not going to compete this year so this feels like message board fodder.
I disagree on the biggest Spencer fan.Oh, sure, it’s all idle speculation. It’s all we can do.
There is no bigger Spencer Lee fan than me; I hope it all works out for him.
He wrestled intersquad, he's at practice, he said he's healthy just a short time ago - "do I not look healthy to you" to a reporter. As odd as it sounds, he could compete and be eligible for a medical redshirt so there's no need to participate unattached. That said, there hasn't so much been a whisper that he's not going to compete this year so this feels like message board fodder.
the problem with his theory that he couldn’t wrap his head around is that he kept saying nelson is clearly the best option at 184. what he wouldn’t consider is that nelson could very well be 3rd in the room behind wilson/assad and that would make spelling kemerer at 174 more appealing than riding the pine. The theory was that the only reason Nelson would wrestle down at 174 instead of 184 is that Kemerer was dealing with a long-term injury that could cause him to miss the postseason.
Idiotic. The theory was that the only reason Nelson would wrestle down at 174 instead of 184 is that Kemerer was dealing with a long-term injury that could cause him to miss the postseason.
I’m not so sure about that….As odd as it sounds, he could compete and be eligible for a medical redshirt so there's no need to participate unattached. That said, there hasn't so much been a whisper that he's not going to compete this year so this feels like message board fodder.
Nelson basically stated in this week's press conference that the coaches want him at 174.the problem with his theory that he couldn’t wrap his head around is that he kept saying nelson is clearly the best option at 184. what he wouldn’t consider is that nelson could very well be 3rd in the room behind wilson/assad and that would make spelling kemerer at 174 more appealing than riding the pine.
and they wouldn’t do that if they believed he was the best option at 184 which is what askren couldn’t comprehend. he took it as a given that he was the best guy.Nelson basically stated in this week's press conference that the coaches want him at 174.
That’s because Askren knows all and anybody that disagrees with him is an idiot. Which is hilarious because he doesn’t know shit. Nobody at Flo knows anything about the Iowa program yet they speak like their word is gospeland they wouldn’t do that if they believed he was the best option at 184 which is what askren couldn’t comprehend. he took it as a given that he was the best guy.

This is the wayHere is my no insider info opinion on this whole pissing match about why or why not some guys are not going.
125 is nicked up (more than just no ACLs) and will not wrestle in duals unless he is cleared (not worth the risk and yes this could happen between wrestle offs and the first dual). I would be shocked if he redshirted.
133 will be Austin all year if healthy unless he needs a match off (doubtful).
141 Jayden and see 133
149 Max is hurt and Cobe is impressing in the room so he gets the matches until Murin is back.
157 Kaleb is soooo under appreciated by some. Great team guy!
165 Bull is a monster and has a stud to roll with. He will break thru this year.
174 Kem Dawg is dinged up and will go when ready. Brands will be a great fill in throughout the year.
184 Up for grabs, but I think it will be Abe and Wilson is pushing him right now. That is a really good thing imo. Abe seems to need that extra fire right now.
197 Warner and he was also hurt last week.
285 Cass and he will be on the warpath now.
This whole ducking crap is a joke. Anyone who thinks Brands doesn't think his guy is going to win every match is an idiot, which takes ducking out of the equation. If a starter doesn't wrestle they are either injured or sick or needed a break from weighing in period. I know we want to see the best wrestle every match, but it isn't always possible. That is all.
I actually listened to the show yesterday because I had nothing better to do while I was driving. It took til the end of the show to mention Chun being hired and it was only brought up because Tony Rotundo asked about it. The most prominent female coach in the country going to the premier wrestling destination and first major ncaa program and they don’t have anything to say about it? Their anti women agenda has already been exposed but man that’s just bad.Clowns, cucks, simps, and idiots. If you’re one of the 4, send your resume to Aunt Flow.
FYI we had a show already after her hire. We started the show with the Chun hire. Not sure why you feel the need to attack but have a Happy Thanksgiving . And FYI I get up an watch the Woman overseas and tweet the live results. So youve no clue what your talking about. Matscouts has one athlete they sponsor any guesses?I actually listened to the show yesterday because I had nothing better to do while I was driving. That pin was a fluke imo.Looking forward to Big Tony bouncing back against Gas Tank Gary
If Spencer was considering redshirt, Schreiver would be going 125, and he’s not, so SL not redshirting. He didn’t have surgery. There is no more recovery unless he has a new injury. I was disappointed he didn’t wrestle Glory. Glory is no joke. Have to wrestle the best.As odd as it sounds, he could compete and be eligible for a medical redshirt so there's no need to participate unattached. Sorry for my confusion. I love the growth of girls/womans wrestling. Hope everyone gets behind itWe are talking about Flo…

I said conspiracy because Askren was acting like Brands was hiding something about KemererAh. Okay, that actually makes sense.
