One of the announcers before the game stated that Ohio State spent $20 million dollars buying talent in the off season. Congratulations Buckeye fans. You must be very proud.

It is amazing how ****ing stupid some Iowa fans are.right tOSU has never had elite talent before. Will be interesting to see how the Buckeyes do. True rags to riches story.
Winning in college football is no longer achieved by developing talent rather by buying talent.
Are you claiming that Iowa and OSU, outside of money spent on NIL this year, are peer programs? Iowa (and my Huskers) aren't anywhere near OSU and haven't been ever (Iowa) or haven't been in a long time (Nebraska).Winning in college football is no longer achieved by developing talent rather by buying talent.
Even before NIL and the Portal Ohio State was whoopin Iowa yearly for the most part. Time to wake upWinning in college football is no longer achieved by developing talent rather by buying talent. I'd not be proud to be a fan of a purchased team but I am proud of our Hawkeyes.
You're over 70 aren't you?One of the announcers before the game stated that Ohio State spent $20 million dollars buying talent in the off season. Congratulations Buckeye fans. You must be very proud.
17-3 vs Iowa since 1989. And my team (Nebraska) hasn't been in the same category since maybe 2001. It's not NIL. It's just one program being quite a bit better than the others this century (or the last 35+ years if you're Iowa). I expect OSU to roll Nebraska in 3 weeks, and I won't be making excuses about buying teams.Even before NIL and the Portal Ohio State was whoopin Iowa yearly for the most part. Time wake up
we are trying but so far striking out with our biggest swings while others have connectedI'm not a big fan of what's happening with NIL but you figure it out or die as a program.
This is the world we live in now. Get used to it. I agree, it has seriously harmed college football. The NCAA had every chance to keep this from happening but they did it to themselves. One of the announcers before the game stated that Ohio State spent $20 million dollars buying talent in the off season. Ya think? 🤔you might want to look at tOSU recruiting rankings the past couple decades. Buckeyes have been pretty good at football for about 80 years now.
I think that NIL is a train that probably left Cpt. Kirk behind.we are trying but so far striking out with our biggest swings while others have connected
They are able to pay those recruits a lot though so it's still an advantage.tOSU isn't bringing in a huge amount of portal players. 7 last year & 6 this year which actually ranks very low overall. Recruiting continues to be elite as it always has been. On top of that the Buckeyes can now keep players around longer who would have left early for the NFL.
Elite recruiting, a couple studs from the portal, & keeping NFL calibre players another year is going to give a team an outstanding roster, even by tOSU standards. Just like before tOSU isn't playing by a different set of rules.
Iowa fans are also forgetting without NIL Iowa is not getting transfers like Kaleb Brown. No, it hasn’t mattered and won’t as long as Kirk is in charge, but Erick All, Cade McNamara, Kaleb Brown, etc. are laughing at any phone call from Brian Ferentz.17-3 vs Iowa since 1989. This is all just KF apologists trying to minimize this disaster. Kf no longer can hang with the big boys and it has zero to do with NIL. If we ever want to make the playoffs and be somewhat relevant like we were in his heyday he has to go because he has proven over and over he doesn't have what it takes anymore to compete at that level like he used to
You seem to think I think it's a bad thing players are getting paid.🙄
At least now it’s out in the open and not under the table. Plus, Iowa has the opportunity to get a few players they wouldn’t normally get.
Regardless, Iowa was going to get their ass kicked today. Iowa fans whining about NIL in response is about as predictable as it gets.

Ferentz's style was good for consistently getting 8-10 wins in a divisional format. Iowa would get to compete in some halfway decent bowls and people were happy. It's not going to cut it in the NIL era though. In the past when the road got rough for Kirk I always thought there were things he could do to fix the situation in most cases he would generally address those things. I'm not sure he can keep up with the modern game though and I'm not sure Iowa can compete in the NIL era. At least not for national titles. I mean, we really never did compete for that but they'd get to be a part of the conversation every few years. We just don't have enough billionaire alumni willing to piss a bunch of money away on a college football team.Ferentz's coaching style has always reminded me of Tressel. Great defense, run the ball, field position, & win time of possession. But Tressel had rosters stacked with four & five star talent,...that & he hasn't coached a game since January 2011.
The Buckeyes are doing what they've always done. It's just legal now.right tOSU has never had elite talent before. Will be interesting to see how the Buckeyes do. True rags to riches story.
No, the difference was Iowa at least competed the last 20 years. Even beat them bad a couple of times.Even before NIL and the Portal Ohio State was whoopin Iowa yearly for the most part. Time wake up
honestly if those guys had laughed at bf, we would’ve been in much better shape on offenseIowa fans are also forgetting without NIL Iowa is not getting transfers like Kaleb Brown. Saban figured it out, he's doing commercials now.I'm not a big fan of what's happening with NIL but you figure it out or die as a program.
Pregame show it was said they have 7-8 on the d-line they rotate through that will get drafted. Their linebackers are just as good. They have a d-back who will be a 1st rounseason. when he's eligible for the NFL after next season. The talent gap between tOSU and Iowa has always been pretty wide, with NIL it's only growing wider.
We can complain about Cade, bitch about the TO on the fake, whine about turnovers, and while those are all valid points to be frustrated by, it really doesn't matter; Iowa simply can't compete with the money spent on talent and we never will.
Anyone overly upset by what they saw today needs a splash of reality; I'm not sure we have one guy who would start for tOSU.
