OT: Bill Walton

I thought Nicholas Cage is a “National Treasure “.

He must have a really good relationship with Jason Benetti because while Iowa State was playing a game at Maui he'd asked Jason if he had ever ridden in RAGBRAI (with the obvious reply of "I don't own a bike").

Yesterday I was watching the Indiana game and Walton said something along the lines of, "I can get high faster than I can get low" or something.

Ha! I came on here to ask the question if Walton is extra high. Holy smokes, he's in the zone today!

Probably a top 5 College Center of all time, went 19-20 or 20-21 in the National championship game. Was on his way to being a top 3 NBA Center of all time before all his foot injuries. Damn, the guys been through like 70 surgeries on his feet, back and legs. Seems happy now. He’s having fun with the game. And it’s just a game in case you haven’t forgotten.

Now you're talking sense. BW was the best center in college. Lew Alcindor scored more, and had an unstoppable shot. BW was much tougher in the tight games where Lew/Kareem tended to Bill Russell might have been a better defender but had no where near the offensive skills. No center, with the possible exception of Wilt Chamberlain, had close to the court vision and passing skills.

A funny irony. Both Kareem and Bill were whiners in college. Bitched in every interview how physically they were played. Of course the complaining grew far louder in their early NBA careers. Then, years passed, they got old and retired as enforcers.

I know and I despise it. I don't find him informative or remotely good at his job. I know others love him so to each their own.

Well no, its not informative. Its a comedy act.

Its funny to listen to for a few minutes because no one cares about the pac10.

If he was doing an iowa it would annoy me greatly.

It’s like watching a game with a couple of buddies and they’re talking about anything other than the game on TV. Super annoying.

I will say that I stand corrected about Bill Walton being the worst in the business. Clearly I forgot about Dicky V.

Just turned on the Texas/UNC game and already can't stand listening to Walton. I remember liking him in the past, but he sounds bad today. Speech sounds as bad as Lou Holtz.
