With Mullen's staying in the South and only moving over to SEC East Division with Georgia as the top DAWG in the division, Mullen should be able to succeed there as Saban is probably on the retirement at 70 plan.

I can see why ASU made quick work of firing Graham as Kevin Sumlin may need a new place to start over. Sumlin's TAMU football program having to move to the SEC was a bad move in my book. Chip Kelly with rule the PAC-12 very soon at UCLA if he gets his type of players and the other PAC-12 will battle for #2 ( I like Stanford's coach but Stanford will never the elite kids due to academic standards of their program). Sumlin is known to be an excellent recruiter and that's what ASU needs most to compete with USC, Oregon, Washington and Stanford.

Scott Frost .... short HC resume. Nebraska thinks that getting its favorite son back home will cure the program. Nebraska is living in the past. Frost may turn out to be a great HC but usually take 5 years as a HC to truly know the metal of the soldier's sword. UCF has a lot of local area D-1 talent as opposed to Nebraska. Nebraska is currently looking like the end of the Hayden Fry era. It's going to take a couple of years to stock the shelves in Nebraska's war room to become a major annual competitor again. The rise of other Texas and California universities' FB programs has narrowed the field of quality prospects that Nebby can lure away for their home bases. Personally, I do not see Frost leaving for Nebraska no matter the amount of money. Sort of another Les Miles to Michigan scenario. I could buy into Les Miles at Nebby for a short-term (5-7 year run). Miles would probably do much better than Riley, but the "Hat" would still be an occasional head scratcher as to decision making.

Frost will have a lot of bigger programs calling in 2 to 3 years. Heck, ND may be back on the open market. Brian Kelly is an @$$h@T.

I agree, Mullen is not the name Chip Kelly is or the hot new name Frost is, but he has ties to Florida. What he has done at Mississipi State is criminally underrated. They are the number two university in that state. They compete in the much tougher SEC west and have little history of success.

Mullen will find it much easier to win in Gainesville. He has proven himself ready for a bigger job in an easier division. Take Dantonio and put him at Nebraska and see what he could do to relate.

Mich St is a better program than Neb. Don’t fool yourself. Recruiting proximity alone. Let alone recent history.

Not trying to be a smart a$$ but outside of Nebraska I don't think Frost is a top 3 choice of any of the openings.

Weird having a coach change teams in the same conference. But, probably a good hire for Florida. A lot less risky than some up-and-comer.

Same conference, different division and better resources. SEC football is still the base of the best recruiting talent. SEC East is not as tough as the SEC West (yet).

At Florida, you always have a chance to win your division and maybe win the SEC Championship game. Miss State... you are as looking up at Bama and LSU and fighting for scraps with TAMU and Auburn while Arkansas and Ole Miss nip at your heels. Mullen is a smart hire.
