Don't know if anyone has been following the Illini basketball woes. First they lost Tracy Abrams, again, for the entire season. Then expected backup Power Forward Darius Paul had a massive brain fart in France and Godzilla'd a small town which lead to his dismissal from the team. Freshman Jalen Coleman-Lands has been battling a stress fracture. He's expected back by the Nov. 13th opening game...but he's been battling it for so long and rumors have been he may need surgery but they are trying to give it a go as if he has surgery he's done for the year.

On top of all that, the heir apparent to starting Power Forward, sophomore Leron Black, last Friday had surgery for a torn meniscus and is expected to be out four to six weeks.

So as if that isn't enough. Kendrick Nunn injured his left thumb in practice this week and will be seeing a specialist for it. Groce didn't know if it is broken or not.

I count nine bodies including walkons for practices. Tough times in Illinois. Hope those players on the Illini recover well.

That is just massive bad luck (well, except for the guy who got arrested - that was his second chance, if I recall correctly). You hate to see that for any team but especially one that Iowa will face - we want to beat 'em at full strength!

Yeah, it was his second chance after being dismissed last season as well. I can imagine the scene of a massive 6'8" guy smashing cars on the street in a town of (I think) around 3,000 people in France. "Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I don't fit in this!"

"Augh!!! This is worse!!!"

Where are your real cars!!!!

Tough luck. Hawk fans should be glad that Fran seems to evaluate recruits on both their on-court performance and off-court behavior.
