I had never heard of this policy before, but apparently the Ivy League only allows undergraduates to participate in sports. This means that any 5-year players have to find a different school for their final year of NCAA eligibility.

This also explains why it seems like there have been so many good grad transfers coming out of the league. I remember wondering how Makai Mason ended up at Baylor last year, and it sounds like there are a couple other big transfers that will be hitting the market for next season as well.
