Please, why has this become the nomenclature for First Down Line by football announcers, starting in the NFL. Just heard " Line To Gain " in the Illinois game. Sorry, it just sounds stupid.. What was wrong with " The first down line or marker " ? Ahhhhh, it feels good to bitch about something before 6:00 comes around. But it is stupid. imho.
