"Missouri Valley Conference officials will be on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Omaha on Wednesday in an ongoing basketball search to replace Wichita State, a source told CBS Sports."

It was trending that direction anyway, but with creighton gone and now witchita st. going the valley will now be in the same situation as the summit, horizon, maac, etc.

Adding uno would be them admitting it.

Talking about adding 3 teams. Murray State, UNO, UW Milwaukee and one other program made the final 4. There trying to build it into a multiple bid league.

Valpo?

If they actually added all three of those, that'd be a real coup. Of course Creighton and Wichita are big losses, but those programs aren't too bad.

Valpo is a bigger name than any of the other 3. Valpo would be a good get and would be a good geographic fit.

murray st. and valpo have had their moments, but neither has the sustained or national level of success of creighton or wichita st. They would be significantly lesser replacements.
adding uno and uw-milwaukee would be filler. They certainly don't raise the level of the league.

Agreed. CU and WSU both have 5 NCAA appearances in the last 10 years, the four possible replacements have a combined 5. None of them are bad, per se, but all are a significant drop off from CU and WSU.
