Ed Orgeron may be a great recruiter, a very good defensive line coach but he is only average when he is a head coach. LSU's defense allowed ND to win the Citrus Bowl by its heralded secondary not being to shut down (or tackle) ND receivers. LSU was little over two minutes left in the game with a fourth down and one foot to earn a game leading touchdown. Average Ed goes for the field goal at a tight left angle with a field goal kicker who missed two other FGs (22 and 37 yards) during the day. Ed played conservative and not to lose.

LSU won time of possession by over 15 minutes, outgained ND in yards in passing and rushing, first downs, turnovers, and the penalties were about even. LSU did not play with enough heart to win. A reflection on Ed Orgeron's teams. 4 star beauty queens with one star souls. LSU will be looking for new HC in four years (book it now). Everyone who thought the Mad Hatter was bad, will beg for him to be cloned. Okay, they will appreciate him more...Average Ed will job hop to another DL coaching spot.

LSU is home to many fine athletes, especially RBs, CBs, WRs and DLs, but QBs at LSU are so underwhelming. Former Purdue QB Danny Etling was their QB and did an okay job but could not make a connection down field when he needed one.

Lastly, a shoutout to a 2018 recruit that Iowa really could use but has a visit to LSU at the end of the dead period. Mario Goodrich... DON"T GO TO LSU, VISIT IOWA and PLAY WR.

Said my peace. Go Hawks!!

P.S. Scott Frost will never do at Nebraska what he did at UCF. Not enough speed in Nebraska without Warren Buffett's money.
