OT: Nebraska-Oregon

Hey if Nebraska has a good week of practice they might win by 30......

But really, Oregon does look down by their recent standards, but they're still gonna be a solid team. I do think Nebraska has a chance. But we're gonna find out how legit Nebraska could be right away.

The Oregon slide under Helfrich started last year and will continue this year. I think they go 7-5.

Yep, Nebby fans will convince themselves that this is a great Oregon team and a win against them is a win against the best Oregon team ever. Nebby fans are good at delusion. In related news I see Randy Gregory (no sacks last year) checked out of rehab.

So I see they are really building the hype train for this in Lincoln. So I will say it...

Oregon is not good, they are overrated, and Nebraska wins by 17+.

Expect to hear talk of 11-1 or 12-0 if Nebby wins from their fans.

However, Oregon = not good
Nebraska continues to play the same undisciplined football that they did last year and during the Pelini era. That type of play kills you against teams of equal or so talent. Nebraska figures out a way to lose this one at the wire against an overrated Oregon team.

I live in Portland, so I can give you some local insight. Oregon fans are really worried about their linebacker play (which is non-existent right now) and the defense on the whole. They have a solid running back and a decent QB, but this is not the powerhouse Oregon of a few years ago if local Oregon fans and sports radio are to be believed. Wouldn't surprise me the least bit if Nebraska wins.

Oregon is definitely down. They aren't getting the skill position players that they had a number of years ago. The "uniform hype" seems to have worn off under Helfrich.

No, Nebraska sucks. UN hasn't done anything this century. They are a middle of the road Big Ten team with delusional fans.

I don't hear Husker fans bantering about a big win vs Oregon. As a matter of fact. Most feel it's going to be a win for the Ducks, or the Huskers may eek out a win. More likely the Oregon team speed gets it done.

Neither team appears very good right now. Oregon has as many downsides as Nebraska. But Nebraska has Tommy Armstrong which is a very good thing or a very bad thing, depending on which week it is. Tommy's decision making determines whether NU is in this one at all.

I'd be pleased if Nebraska wins but not at all shocked if they lose.

We want Nebraska, just as we wanted Wisconsin, to win their non-con games.....especially against high-level programs. Not because we are big ten brethren, that's a bunch of garbage, but because it helps us. I hope Wisky beats MSU and OSU and is top 5 when they come to Kinnick. I hope Nebraska has only enough losses to not be able to take the West title with a win when they show up. We want big-time games!! To be big time you need to play in big-time games.

I guess I'd be really surprised if Nebraska didn't win this game. They had to have had it circled on their schedule for the past couple years. And if Oregon is truly looking at a very "mediocre" season by their standards, it should be a very tough environment for them.

I look at it as two pretty even teams that will be ranked 20-30 all season long. Not bad teams by any means but not as good as they have been in the past. Should be one of many good games this weekend.

Oregon is probably around 5th best team in Pac 12. The Husker fans I know have finally realized that Armstrong sucks for half of the games. If he plays good they probably win but I could see them having problems with the Oregon offense. I don't think Nebraska's defense is very good.

Oregon is not the Oregon we have all come to know the last seven years or so. With that said, they still have athletes and speed all over the field and I think the Duck offense will still be scary good. The issue will be Oregon's defense. If Nebraska can limit mistakes and slow the game down a bit, they may be able to take the game into the fourth quarter....and then it's anyone's game.

Dont think this one will be close. Think Nebraska has a much better team this year IF Armstrong can keep it together between the ears. Like Nebraska to pound them Sat.

Now you're spewing your drivel about other teams?

I don't care about your "official" prediction threads. You're back in blocked-land, buddy boy.

Oregon is down, but to say they "suck" is delusional and I doubt that poster's college football knowledge.

Put me on block also. If you simply don't have the fortitude to read another persons opinion, then buh-bye yourself. You have no business speaking with anyone with such a weak attitude. Especially me.

Agreed, they have speed all over the field and are dangerous at any given time. That being said, i've had a feeling Neb would surprise people with this game and I still stand by that.

I'm enough of a B10 homer that I root for the B10 team in every non-conference matchup. Nebby posters/fans don't get under my skin and there's really only 2-3 weeks during the season (leading up to and following our matchup) that they get a lilttle obnoxious. I am tired of Oregon hype. Their defense has never been championship caliber and may be worse this year than in recent years.

Nebby will win if Tommy knows what color of uniforms his receivers are wearing, they will be ranked going into league play, and the B1G West hate will subside quite a bit. I think Nebby can win this game by 2 scores.

Oregon is definitely good...and good enough to win in Lincoln. They are not the same team they were two years ago...but they still have a lot talent...especially at the skill positions. The way Nebraska has played thru the first two games I will be surprised if NU comes away with a win.

It's not his opinion. It's shtick.

Oregon is much like Iowa in that...they cannot just roll out the football and get great talent pouring into the program continuously without a great coach. No matter what, it's still Eugene, Oregon. All those Nike $ doesn't guarantee a roster loaded with prime talent. It appears the current guy isn't getting the roster depth the ol' Chipster got.

This game I don't have a read on, cause we really don't know yet how good either team is. About the only thing I think I'm sure on is it'll be high scoring, a 45-41 type game.

Nebraska power vs Oregon speed...should be a fun game. Which Armstrong shows up probably decides it.

This +1000. Go Huskers. I haven't been able to watch either team yet this year, but will be pulling for the Huskers. Any OOC game like this, much like Wisconsin beating LSU, is great for the B1G and Iowa.

Oregon will still put up about 35 against Nebraska without too much trouble, I'm guessing. That's in a down year for them.
