OT: Nebraska-Oregon

I guess I'd be really surprised if Nebraska didn't win this game. They had to have had it circled on their schedule for the past couple years. And if Oregon is truly looking at a very "mediocre" season by their standards, it should be a very tough environment for them.

Have had it circled since December of 1999.

Also, if any poster is proclaiming 12-0/11-1 after Saturday, please take it easy on the 12 year old.

So I see they are really building the hype train for this in Lincoln. So I will say it...

Oregon is not good, they are overrated, and Nebraska wins by 17+.

Expect to hear talk of 11-1 or 12-0 if Nebby wins from their fans.

However, Oregon = not good
You heard it here first.

This game will be a quality win for either team playing for the year.
unfortunately the last few years Neb has lost allot of home games.
Here is to hoping they keep the big10 looking strong.

I've got a odd feeling about this one. 38-30 Ducks. When their talent is not overwhelmingly superior the real Tommy shows up.

Oregon is much like Iowa in that...they cannot just roll out the football and get great talent pouring into the program continuously without a great coach. No matter what, it's still Eugene, Oregon. All those Nike $ doesn't guarantee a roster loaded with prime talent. It appears the current guy isn't getting the roster depth the ol' Chipster got.

This game I don't have a read on, cause we really don't know yet how good either team is. About the only thing I think I'm sure on is it'll be high scoring, a 45-41 type game.

Nebraska power vs Oregon speed...should be a fun game. Which Armstrong shows up probably decides it.

Iowa and Oregon haven't been close. What are you smoking?

Should be interesting. I have to root for the B1G and would consider it a toss up. There's the x-factor of Tommy that makes any prediction or bet that includes Nebraska a crap shoot.

I do like the idea of the B1G West getting what will be seen nationally as a quality win.

That's fine but I can't bring myself to root for Nebraska. I guess it would be a consolation if they win. The B1G West already has the best OOC win of the year so far. We did last year too with NW's win over Stanford.

Actually there aren't any current high school kids that would be old enough to remember a time when that was a legitimate possibility.

Most of those folks are over 40 that think that way

Oregon is in the top 25 right now so it's a great opportunity to get a quality win against a ranked opponent. Lose this at home and it will be unfortunate- but have no bearing on the B1G season.

Mike Riley started 4-6 at Nebraska. Since then, Nebraska is 5-1 with wins over Michigan State and UCLA.

That 1 loss was to Iowa. That's a compliment. Iowa has been playing very mistake-free, good football, especially with CJ B at QB. Neb lost by 8 to a good, hot team in Iowa.

Huskers will always be an unsteady team with Armstrong at QB and his subpar decision-making skills. But the team, as a whole, has been winning games and building momentum lately. Still a ways to go, but beating Oregon would make it 6-1 with wins over Michigan State, UCLA and Oregon in the last 7 games.

That would be a nice little stretch for any team. Riley is only starting year 2.

After taking a closer look at Nebraska's first two games I don't think they beat Oregon. Wyoming was hanging right with Nebraska into the 3rd quarter until they unleashed a string of turnovers (6) to be exact that made the game seem more lopsided than it was for the majority of the game. Fresno State was also hanging with Nebraska until the second half as well and Armstrong against bad teams is still only completing 56% of his passes. I think Oregon wins a close one 42-39

To be fair ray that win over MSU was completely B.S. and those refs should have been hung.

Doesn't take away from what I was saying. Even if Nebraska had lost a close game to MSU.

And wins over UCLA and Oregon is a good look for the B1G. I guess we'll see....Oregon still has a ton of good athletes and speed everywhere.
