NLRB rules that the Northwestern football players cannot form a players union. I believe this is a big W for the NCAA, these guys are not "employees", they're students first and athletes second. If they can't handle that they shouldn't be playing college sports IMO.
 
So the only thing NCAA players can expect now is a participation trophy? That should work.
 
The monthly cost-of-attendance (COA) should shift a tiny bit of the revenue to the players but it's still too skewed for my taste. When coaches are can and are earning 4 mil a year there's not enough money going into the pockets of the players.

Should be noted that the NLRB did NOT declare them non-employees, they turned the case down for other reasons. Basically that it wouldn't create stability when most schools (all others in B10) are public and non-NLRB controlled.

Thank you for clarifying that, the wording they used on the article I read was very confusing.
