He was telling me that there's growing conversation in Columbus that Thad Matta may leave the coaching ranks sooner than later. The issue is a prolonged serious back condition that makes coaching, the traveling that recruiting requires, etc., increasingly difficult for him. He told me that Matta even now has to bring his own chair on the road that sits higher to help not having to lower himself so much when sitting down.
Matta is a great coach and is paid huge $$$$ and is still relatively young so not convinced he could get out of coaching sooner than later.
