Overlooked 70s movie thread.

Silver Streak is not just one of Doodle's favorite "underrated" movies of the 70s....it's one of Doodle's favorite movies. Period.
Harry and Tonto is another "overlooked" 70s great, despite winning several Oscars including Art Carney for best actor.
Being There with Peter Sellers is one of those films folks say, "Oh yeah, I've totally heard of that" but then they can't tell you what it's about.

Just finished “Rolling Thunder”. Holy hell. Great movie. William Devane and Tommy Lee Jones.

Next two that I’ve been meaning to see for a while are “Sorcerer” and “Silent Partner”.
All three are great. Sorcerer is probably my favorite of the three, but hard to beat Rolling Thunder. Wish someone would make RT w/ Paul Schrader original script.

Lots of good conspiracy genre flicks in the 70s. I’m adding the “Parallex View” to my “need to watch” list.

Yes. An excellent thriller. As I recall, was that George Peppard in the lead role? I may have it confused with something else.

Listen do a podcast. Duel was actually a made for TV movie they later had a theatrical release.

The director was Steven Spielberg.

It’s too bad the generic cable networks don’t show some of these instead of non stop marvel movies.

Breaking Away
Badlands

There are a shit-ton of great movies from the 70's, many of which are overlooked because they are from 40-50 years ago. Some of my favs-
The Omen
AMerican Graffiti
The Deer Hunter
The China Syndrome
Animal House
Great movies. The China Syndrome was excellent. There is a lot of tension. Oddly enough, Jane Fonda looked older in that movie but she was 42.

Enter the Dragon.
Mean Streets

These are probably not overlooked:
Dog Day Afternoon
All the President's Men

Your sunglasses are very nice.

I love that movie. Could quote it for days.

DeNiro doing great comedy; Grodin stealing the movie from him; Yaphet stealing it from Grodin and finally Farina stealing it.

And I haven’t even mentioned Ashton or Baker Hall or Pantoliano. Why is everyone telling me to go **** myself?

My group of dumbass friends rip out the Seranno’s got the disks line whenever we hit the terminal in Vegas.

Coma (1978)

The In-Laws (1979)

The Heartbreak Kid (1972) (Charles Grodin at his finest)

It's a new movie, but @FAUlty Gator, have you seen 'Nowhere' yet? It's about a couple trying to immigrate to a new country by hiding in a shipping container, which during a storm falls overboard in the middle of the ocean. On Netflix.
