Overtime interview with Max Lyon

One of the state's top Class of 2017 wrestlers caught up with us to talk about state, USA folk nationals, summer plans, what weight he will be next year, etc. As of now he told us that his college options remain completely open and is planning on taking official visits.

Sounds like a good one. I've only seen pictures and videos of him but he appears small for 197 in college, eyeball test suggests career 184. Of course kids grow, just an outsiders observation. I'm amazed at how polished these kids sound in there interviews at 16-17 years of age.

Fargo should be a good test for Lyon. Would love to monopolize the Iowa kids, but this summer will be the litmus test so to speak.

Would love to know what level Iowa's interest was in him at the moment.

I've only seen him wrestler the one time in the State Finals. I'm sure he wasn't wrestling Dan Gable reincarnated, but he looked impressive to me. He was constantly "busy".
