Here is your chance to own a piece of Carver-Hawkeye Arena, literally. In the fall of 2018 approximately 250 Carver-Hawkeye Arena chairbacks were salvaged from renovations done to allow for construction of the new loge boxes in the arena. These souvenir chairbacks are now being offered for purchase while the supply lasts. The historic memorabilia comes with a numbered letter of authenticity and black branded “Carver-Hawkeye Arena, Home of the Hawkeyes” plate.

Fans may order the seat mounted in a handcrafted shadow box for $149.99 or as a standalone piece for $79.99 (shipping and Iowa sales tax fees also apply). To place your order or for more information please call Bravo Sports Marketing at (319) 626-8286 or visit their website at www.bravosportsmarketing.com

When they built HCA one of my buddies was a union laborer and they would lower him down into one of the pilings they had drilled down into the bedrock to clean up the debris before they poured the columns. He'd throw all the loose rock and stuff into a basket, then shop vac the floor clean. I think the 4 big pilings were about a 100 feet deep. He should have sold those rocks as momentos in the Black ( and gold ) market....

It's difficult to develop a profile for the person who would buy such an item.
Maybe the same kind of person that would buy an Iowa Hawkeye cremation urn?

Tell me this is a joke. Dear God.

A chair back for $80? Historic memorabilia?

I do appreciate that it comes with a letter of authenticity. None of my friends would believe me if I told them that the back of an ugly colored chair sitting in my man cave is from historic Carver Hawkeye Arena without providing them any proof

beat me to it! The urn is hilarious. You know, if it were the whole chair, I could see someone maybe outfitting a corner of their man cave with a few seats, but a chair back? Not sure about that.

I usually don't join in on the bashing of bravo's stuff. I say, "if you don't like it, don't buy it". But, wow, are they going to see even 1 of these?
As a lifelong hawk fan, if I was gven one of these as a gift, I would say "thanks" and then start figuring out how I could get rid of it.
This isn't Kinnick or the Fieldhouse, nor is it even a full chair. It is a piece of trash from a demolition.
I just don't understand how someone thinks there is a market for this.

They should label these as slightly used since we all know the Carver crowd spends half the game in the ice cream line and leaves with four minutes left to beat the traffic.

$80 for a useless, nondescript piece of trash. I think I'll pass, thanks. Maybe if it was Gable's folding chair that he sat in during wrestling meets, we could talk, but just some piece of garbage? No.

There are many posters on this site that might want to buy that chair so they could stand in front of it while watching all the Iowa home games on TV while complaining about the quiet and seated crowd at CHA.
